Thanks, guod.
Great report. OBD have surpassed all my expectations, and they were already high.
Can't wait for WOFF.

Wow! That looks amazing. I haven't played any of the earlier versions of OFF but WOFF looks like it will give my time with RoF a run for its money. Thanks McGonigle for the coverage and the OFF team for some great looking work

Thanks for the preview, Jens. Very exciting!

For those of you who haven't played OFF in a while, the modding community has done some amazing work to improve and deepen the experience and help bridge the gap between OFF and WOFF: improved flight and damage models, more historically accurate campaign missions and weather, reworked sounds, and more. My OFFice incomplete campaign editor even lets you manually report what happens to your squadmates in flight, witnessing crashes and claims and such, reducing the noted disconnect between your squadron roster and what happens in flight.

Follow the link in my signature for a start.

Great writeup, thank you. Never got CFS3 to run properly on my last system, very tempted now to search for the CDs and give it another whirl when WOFF is ready.

Great article! I enjoyed the write up and it really looks like we're close now... two weeks! I can heartily say that if you haven't tried OFF, this is going to be the definitive version. You're missing out on a lot if you don't.

Oh, and I nearly spit out my tea reading it this morning when I saw "CaptSopwith said..." in the article. First time I've been quoted! rofl

Jens "Mc Gonigle" Lindblad, you have written a fine article here, Sir!
Polovski had long promised a list of new features.
That time could now be saved for more working and improvement for WOFF -
your article seems to list most of it.

Jens, if you are an OFF flyer, I would like to add you to the "OFF Pilots Maps".
If you send me a message with your town and country, I will do so.

Oh you must not be married then...

I didn't see multi-player mentioned but I'm at work and just scanned thru the article for points that were most interesting to me. Excellent article!

Thanks for your work on that Jens and Doug. Nice to have most of the info gathered into one article place too.

There are plenty more features and great things we haven't discussed yet which will set it apart from the current OFF even further and we hope Jens will get to see that when we are more ready smile.

Thanks chaps!

Olham: Message sent. Thank you for your kind offer.

Chef: For multiplayer, WOFF is not where it is at.

Regarding two weeks: Well, if you imagine yourself to be in the second half of 1914 and think the war will be over before Christmas, then two weeks should probably be as good a guess as anyone's. biggrin

As the saying goes; it is done when it is done and I wouldn't expect anything in two weeks; until about two weeks before release (whenever that is).

Wonderful write up sir. Good to see WOFF getting some press.

The list of features never fails to impress and they keep leaking out more, little by little. Everyone looks for different things in a sim, but for anyone interested in a dynamic single player WWI flight sim campaign, I think WOFF will be the definitive sim for a very long time. Impressive stuff. Can't wait til they release the full list of new and improved features.

I couldn't agree more Hellshade. If I had the expendable cash to do so, I would build a new gaming PC right now - equip it with the best components, a copy of Windows 7, W.O.F.F. and my current crop of games and sit tight for... oh about five years. reading
