A common sense approach does not apply for CLOD, one exsample: a few patches back, the patch killed sound in CLOD, the only way to fix it was to turn off trees. screwy

The last I checked the graphic rewrite patch is still in beta test, and was done to increase stability (remove CTD's amd Launcher exe issues)and frame rates. Increasing frame rates could allow the addition of more resource hungry features like AA and AF. The patch isn't finished yet and most of the CTD issues seems to have cleared up, which you said the patch wouldn't fix, although it has started a Launcher exe problem on my system I didn't have before. BUT THATS THE HOLE POINT OF RELEASING A BETA PATCH, anytime you rewrite something there is a good possibility of porking something else like the SOUND, or TREE LOD's. You don't want to release an official patch until most of the glaring errors like the Tree LOD's are fixed. Those that download the first beta patch for the graphic/stability rewrite and don't expect any bugs are missing the whole point.

I could give a Rats Ass if you drag up every post I've ever made. You miss the whole point of the forum where speculation is rampant from everyone and the only thing keeping the COD forums alive. If you can't figure out what is speculation and what is fact there is nothing I can do about it.

Upgrading your hardware can and will help alleviate many stability issues. Optimizing your system where you don't have alot of other programs running in the background will also help. My system for example has never CTD'd using COD. There have been a number of patches that have made improvements since the release.

Yes the publisher/developer should have "Come Clean" but the buying public wouldn't have seen the forest for the trees, and the new series would have died a long time ago.

Not exactly. There was oodles of cuss and discuss (mostly cuss) about several sims being impacted by DRM/CP at the time when the forum was created. It was started because the same/similar yada yada was showing-up in multiple forums, and conversely, information was getting missed. Better to directly address it in discussion than tuck it away in some dark corner.

Thanks for the clarification, guod.

Even if it's there, if you can fly through it without damage, does it really exist? I think you need a new "catch phrase" Chivas....the trees are porked in so many ways in the sim, your saying is just ironic.

I know I'm wasting my time, but only when you don't understand the concept that "unfinished" usually means there will be a number of bugs and unfinished features.

Even with all the issues this game is insanely great and extremely immersive for me, flying off-line. I set my group as ace, and the enemy as average. Its just so cool returning and being yelled at to join the circuit, admiring my home base objects from the air, while waiting to land.
