As I already knew the third season for this year would be compromised by betatesting for Fanatec and Reiza studios,
I decided to take some time off from racing...well iRacing at least.
Being committed to iRacings Grand Am series for too long somehow put out the real joy of racing as I was constantly looking
optimizing the races and scoring points.
With the summer heat comming on, I also knew it would get extremely swetty to run long races.

Once both beta testings were finished, I started to get that "race itch" again, but now it was too late to jump on the series.
So I signed up for some races at RaceDepartment, mainly the GSC F3 series.

Man, have I had fun with this car winkngrin
Just quick enough for me to manage it without totally upgrading my brain as would needed with the F1s.
The F1 cars are just too demanding for me to enjoy as those cars are 0.5 sec faster than my brain.

As things looked good during the races I signed on for the RD open wheels championship.
They will keep me occupied until the next iRacing season starts as it's only 4 races.
Here are some recaps of the races so far. Top quality commentators have been involved for the races.

(Race starts at 50 min, Some connection issues for the commentators unfortunately and other tech problems)

(Short preview)

(race starts at 25 min)

Very cool. I hope we do some more modern open wheel stuff here soon.

The GSC F3's are a lot of fun...just enough power to get you in trouble if you don't pay attention, but not too much that you spend all your time worrying about it.

Very nice and good results so far for you! Great sim, isnīt it?! smile

Looks like Bram is getting some serious competition. First season he was untouchable in those little screamers.

Hope to join my first club racing event with the V8`s s after an eternity tonight at RaceDepartment.

I should run some of the lower-end open wheelers again.

I ran the rFBMW's at R2P a long time ago. I wasn't the fastest but it was fun, and I managed to be competitive.

I can't handle the bigger cars (GP2, F1) and just don't have enough time to really learn them.

Yep, we will (as Steve Hill mentioned).

But I'm working on another unannounced series. Announcement coming soon.

I knew posting that video of the giant dump truck on the 'ring would have an effect.

hahaha

Anyway, count me in for a GSC league.
They are all fun cars (well, perhaps not the dump truck wink )
There are some extra tracks out there too that might be fun to use also.
All not as good graphically, as the Reiza ones though.
