While the premise of this seems golden when limited to fac and ordering around crunchies. I just can not see this being vary great as I am guessing the ground force ai is still pretty much the same go to that way point sort of deal? From the screens the controling the vehicle thing looks way to game like. Silly HUDs with compass on screen? Sort of surprised DCS did that as the aircraft stuff is so good. In my mind would have been better to model a few vehicles legit for FAC's and command element and totally drop the "playable" everything bit.

Anyhow wondering what the average sabow apos player thinks of it. Although a legit ground vehicle mod for FAC and command element I find tempting. I must say the for pay 3rd party addon creation bit is interesting. I would probably pay 5 - 8 bucks for something like that......but I degress. Hell........that 3rd party mig21bis is REALLY tempting.

Ground graphics look 10 years old, physiks looks also bad. Its just something for the Flyboys to play around when they are bored by flying around.

Well yes.......a game engine designed to render out to 20 ---------123141241 kilometers is going to look bad at ground level. Thats a given. However it does work quite well for 50 meters off the ground and above. Yes i think they may have stretched out to far on aspects of this one. But combining legit air craft sim with some sort of armor sim is just a matter of time. ARMA series does not really count on this.......not capable of the really long visual ranges needed or an aircraft. It sort of is but not. Gawd awful armor simulation.....messed up flight dynamics. Does infantry VARY well however.

However just because you can do something does not mean you should. While many people dream game is combining infantry armor and aircraft into one game. Well to do them real world even if the tech is there, there is next to zero way a company could get everything legit.

Hay I am a bad fly boy. biggrin But I am a rotor head......flying tank baby.

For instance gravi should never attempt to add playable aircraft in current engine....would never work well. Dont think they want to either. But they could turn an armored sim into infantry combat without it being to horid. #1 issue would be throwing your face into brush and realizing that it is not up to your latest greatest FPS level. As that is what it would be compared too. However, its not far behind at all. Oh and the morphable ground would more than make up for it. But with that said........IMO it would be better as 3rd person overall command of infantry as a tactics sim in the "brush". But all this does not matter one bit as I have totally gone off on a random stream of thought.

I've been playing AP series since the beginning. I'll go on a binge of playing APOS then stop playing it because something irks me about it. Currently not playing it.

Have not played SABOW yet, although I probably should since I'm an old-school 19E and have been downrange many times on M60A1/M48A5. Probably haven't bought it yet because it uses same engine as APOS (with addition of 1st person) and I'm currently not playing APOS because something about it irked me last time I played.

Just purchased CA last night, looking forward to trying it. I too am looking for the ground combat utopia (unicorn?). I Have BS & A10 but my lack of a $500 TM joystick irked me so I stopped playing both. I might be able to overlook the lack of graphical beauty at ground level in DCS World as long as I can get a reasonable simulation of modern ground combat without having to go through flight school just to figure out start up procedures.

19E? Not a clue what that is. =). I was a 19D so I hear you on all this. biggrin At some point I will pick up CA as I am curious, but not sure if it will do it for me.
