Well , Ive been flying and testing DCS P-51 all weekend and really enjoying it. I'm excited
to see what the future holds for it since this is just a Beta!

But, Im having a hard time dog fighting in it. The Instant action mission P51 vs P51.
I cannot seem to shoot that dang russian down! When I try a break turn she rolls every which way!
Any hard maneuvering she stalls or rolls. That Dang russian doesnt seem to have that problem!
( I know the P-51 isnt a turn and burn plane ..but Geez)

So, I guess my question is ...Is thier a special set up I can do with trim or maybe...\
config my Saitek x-52 pro better ...like curvature or deadzone stuff?

Any Help will be greatly apperciated!
Thanks

That means you are forcing her into a stall. Try pulling less hard. When she starts to slip and roll, completely unload and counter with rudder. With the next patch, there will be some buffet to warn you of an impending stall, so riding the edge will become a little easier, however, you still need to be very careful and not pull too hard.

As you said it is a beta wounded . To succeed over the mighty AI you need to add more weight to the AI aircraft than your own. It has something to do with the fact that AI aircraft don’t add the weight of the weapon rounds so they are essentially carrying a lighter aircraft than yours. Add 20% fuel to yours and 100% to the AI and try again. When you get the hang of it you can reduce the difference in weight.

I gave up on trying to shoot down the Russian plane. It doesn't have any of the regulation that your plane has. No matter how you turn, climb, or manuver. The drone plane seems to not have any restraint. It does 90% climbs and does'nt even slow down. I think it's the way the game is set up.
I go into the create custom mission tab and set it up for med number of helocpters. That's how I have been practicing shooting down aircraft. I have to warn you though....the helis are pretty hard to shoot down also. They have more armement than you do and can turn on a dime. But it's easier than trying to shood down that drone. Also...in the training tab you can use the Sight practice tab and you get 2 other P-51's that only run from you and won't shoot at you. They are likewise a challenge as they really turn and twist. But......you don't get shot at.

I hope that this wont be the case when they release the actual sim.

Hmm....didn't know you could set up the weight and fuel.......it doesn't offer me the option.
