4 years back i did that, put a 5000 BTU unit in the small back room (my office at the time), to cool the dog and my Studio Gear

It was there and set to 65 degrees F, up till 2008ish, when I moved into an apartment, the unit was taken out of the window by my dad.

the only reason I moved back home was to take care of him, which he's grumpy pretty much 24/7.

For the health and safety of the dog, the A/C unit will most likely be re-installed in the old office window as soon as I get it out of the garage, and clean the radiator and filters.

Sad to say that around here, heat is not the worst threat for pets.

July 1st is "national moving day" here in Quebec (since almost all annual leases on appartments are renewed/terminated on that date). There is a growing trend in Montreal for appartment dwellers to just leave their dogs and cats behind when they move. Just this week an animal shelter on the outskirts of the city was having a "cat-a-thon" where they were trying to find homes for more than 200 cats abandonned since the First of the month.

Good thing for those $)@$&)@) that I don't own a gun. :-(

So, she had a Vet visit late last week to draw blood and test numbers. The Vet that she met with was the Vet that took care of her the first day she was there on emergency/critical status, the vet had trouble believing she was the same dog that she was treating just a week ago. She was very active, wagging tail, sniffing out smells, walking around the back and greeting all the other nurses/vets/interns that she met while she was there.

Don’t remember the exact number (been busy), but she had gotten her RBC Numbers up to the Bottom of the "Normal" (i think its like 28 or 29?), from 4, which the vet reminded us that 4, is well below the threshold for the dog to be alive, and that there is a good chance there was an underlying cause, and may have caused damage.

I mentioned to the Vet the conditions she was in, with the Heat, No AC, and the Flea Invasion of not only my yard & house, but apparently my entire BLOCK I lived on, neighbors were fighting them off as well, even after treating their yards.
I also mentioned in the summer she’s never really that active, she’s a winter dog, loves the cold, and goes berserk when it snows.

We had sprayed the house, and the car, and treated her, but the rain delayed us treating the yard again. (not to mention, Lowes, Home Depot and Walmart had no stock in SpectraCide, Sevin, or anything to treat the yard with.)
It was funny to see myself, and 4 neighbors mowing and treating our yards at the same time yesterday evening.

Yikes, I'm allergic to flea bites myself (I get dimples). Wouldn't want to be caught in such an invasion...
