Heya All,

Just thought I'd post a quick picture of the HyperLobby last night. Lots of activity, and lots of people. Was a beautiful thing to see!

yeah, the lack of stable, realistic, and complex jet sims pretty much insures that falcon 4 and jf-18 live on.

It's heartening to see all of that activity at HyperLobby. Thanks for letting us know about it.

No problem guys. It seems that Jane's is enjoying a little bit of a resurgence due to the efforts of people like you all at TSH, and "skinners" like Warthog, etc.

Rediscovery of this great sim is a gooooood thing.

I also hear from folks in the F4 community that since there are SO MANY new addons (SuperPaks, Free Falcon, BMS) that get mixed and matched, it is getting harder to orchestrate Multiplayer flights with matching configurations. F/A-18 may have taken the lead for 'Stable Multiplayer'.

Well, I think we took the lead for stable multiplayer a long time ago. \:\)

I thought I'd recycle a notion here that I posted in another thread:

I've been told that neither LOMAC nor the latest incarnation of F4 has carrier ops with functioning ball, ATFLIR, NavFLIR, Walleyes and Mavericks with functioning video, Harpoons, and such as accurately modeled as in Jane's F/A-18. That's why I (and I presume others) like Jane's F/A-18, and why I prefer it to LOMAC and even the latest incarnation of F4. There's a lot to do with carrier landing, finding and selecting targets with ATFLIR, flying at night with NavFLIR, using Walleyes and Mavericks with video, etc. in Jane's F/A-18 that you can't do in LOMAC nor even the latest incarnation of F4. ;\) \:\)

True, Doc. Why don't you hop onto the lobby one of these nights?

Roger, Joe. It's just that things in real life are such that I'm just able to check in at the forums.

This sim is far from dead. We have three mini campaigns being 'packaged' up for the F-14, plus some small training campaigns for the Superbug, and another big project (not mine) that is being tested. And this is just the stuff that I know about.
