I wish I had a system that would run this.

I've been waiting for this to go on sale and bought it a couple of days ago.

I am very impressed. There's moaning in the dev's forum about some balance changes in the latest patch, but since I don't know any different it's not a problem.

There's not much in the way of tutorials but gameplay is simple (I really ought to look at the manual at some time) and it doesn't take much to get your units where you want. It can seem that the AI is too good when you get torn up by some hidden nasties but it's very satisfying when you do the same to them.

I've played through the first campaign and found the last mission (defending a bridgehead against Soviet hordes while the clock ticks) really enjoyable. It's all about holding position while maintaining supply with a limited number of friendly units. The minimap lets you know there's trouble on the way and the AI is good enough to try flanking moves.

You can only unlock new units by winning and earning command points but that lets you learn what each unit type does best. There really is a lot of variety.

Best of all, it's set in the 1970's cold war.

Hiya Mace, I've seen some of those videos on youtube.

I'm thinking MP will have to wait for a while. The AI is good at spamming too - lots of Helos in the instant action game but if he's spending points on them it means he's not spawning T72s!

I stopped playing it as within the first minute of gameplay loads of cheap tanks with AA would roll down towards me and unless you know exactly what units they have spammed you cannot get enough units yourself to counter them! Even if you could it would be a spam war.

It is a real shame that these players do this as when it didn't use to happen it was good.

Eh, just get friends and relatives and history buffs to get the game, and play with people you know. Its the only way I play MP in anything (save BF3 . . .).

Played it on my younger brother's computer a while back, was enthralled, and picked it up this weekend, though I have not had a chance to play it. Once my brother gets out of training, I'm sure we'll be having some MP goodness.

My buddy who I play multi with would spam me without realizing it was a jerk move and he likes the game a lot more than I do so he had better equipment, but with certain gentlemen agreement restrictions I've finally got enough equipment to beat the crap out of his soviet tanks
