Grim tidings. sigh

Were they from 'Lossie'? If so, they could be GR4s from 617 Dambusters, 12 or 15 Squadron.

Hope they find the other two crew members and that they are ok.

Used to live in Wick, and by the sound of it crashing in the Beatrice oil field they wernt that far off shore, you can see the Lossie coast from Wick on a good day.
Wick Airport has been used for touch n goes for many, many years by Kinloss and Lossie aircraft.

They were from 'Lossie' as far as I know and they were GR4's.

I wonder if they had a mid-air collision?

Cripes, just heard about this! Awful. sigh Yeah, I'm thinking that too Chucky, I know they do extremely low alt training exercises at high speeds and wonder if thats what happened as well. We'll find out soon enough probably.

Has there been a thread on pilot Trevor Roach dying whilst crashing a De Havilland DH53 Humming Bird a couple of days ago, as well? Can't seem to find one. Just heard about this too.....crazy. They are reputed to be a horror to land, with a tendency to flick over (been a few crashes with them in the past). He used to be the Shuttleworth collections Chief Pilot too if I'm not mistaken? In this case it looks like he didn't have a chance, engine faltered at low alt and he dropped like a stone.

RIP. sigh

Probably, or catastrophic bird strikes.

Appears that one crew ejected after landing.

It irks me when news articles feel they have to mention the cost of the destroyed aircraft. It's like they hope there'll be a bill tucked into the folded flag.
