I should have made this thread about which films you watch again and again without tiring of them.

Easy pick for me...

Aliens (extended)
The Fifth Element
Chronicles of Riddick

If we're talking strictly sci-fi movies then a partial list for me would be,

Blade Runner
Alien
Aliens
The Fifth Element
Pitch Black
Chronicles of Riddick
Star Wars
Empire Strikes Back
Tron
Dune
2001
2010
The Matrix
Star Trek II: Wrath of Khan
Star Trek (the new one)
Star Trek VI: Undiscovered Country

Hey PM, you must have made a typo or something.
Star Wars, check
The Empire Strikes back, check
But where is Episode 1: The intelligence menace?

Probably just forgot. Or maybe you just got caught up in one of those Jar-Jar Binks Youtube runs that we all fall prey to so often.

Brilliant use of thinly veiled sarcasm. smile

I've found that the movies that hold up best in repeated viewings (for me) all have both great visuals AND great soundtracks. John Williams deserves as much credit for Star Wars as Lucas...that movie would have suffered greatly in the hands of a poor composer or ...worse...some contemporary pop group of the time.

Absolutely agree Fritz. No doubt that certain films are defined by their score and visuals. 2001, Star Wars, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Blade Runner, etc.

Lucas himself credited Williams largely with the success of the original trilogy.

Doomsday!
Rhona Mitra, as yet another "hot chick in stompy boots kicking azz in post-apocalyptic nightmare"!

And yet, it works. Oh, don't think about it too hard, or cracks in the plot might appear, but really it's a great fun action bloody gorefest, but with decent acting, good action that's not repetitive, and the movie appears to have many different sub-genres throughout the movie.

Oh yea, and tattoo-face-chick is kinda hot, in that weird psycho-woman kind of way!
