Frustrated. Apparently either my 4 year old nephew or my 2 year old son knocked my Thrustmaster Warthog off my desk and broke the stem of the Mic Switch on the throttle off. Fortunately it is the least required switch on the throttle, but I'm wondering what/if it is possible to fix it without sending it to TM (I'm not going through that again). It appears that hat switch is mounted in there in a way where it might be removable?

I can't imagine any type of super-glue would be adequate to hold that stem on there in the heat of the moment of flying..

sigh

Any suggestions?

You could probably open a support ticket with TM and ask about buying a replacement and installing it yourself?

If you're good with working in tight areas then it should be easy to replace. I say tight areas because I didn't see anyway to get the panel to open wider than seen in the images.

Remove 3 large screws on the inner side of the throttle arm and one small screw just above the broken switch. The 3 long screws are all the same size so it won't matter where they go. Tip the plastic collars may slip off when you separate the two halves. They slip back on with no issues. (The collars are channels for the longer screws, you can see two of the three in my images.)

I found TM Support very fast and helpful, top notch. I just get an answer from them and they will send me the whole right lever assembly. It will take me a while to install it, but since the my problem was with the china hat, the rest of old assembly is in good condition.

I donīt know how much time will take, couple of weeks for sure, but if you don't find the switch I can send you that part to you.

I too find TM support in regards to sending parts failry awesome. I needed a new Gold name plate for my Cougar and they not only had the part but got it to me for $15 shipped to the US from France in under 2 weeks!

Beach,

I have the complete switch assembly from when I had the bad China hat. I'll gladly send it to you. The MIC switch works fine on it. Only the China hat was bad.

PM me a shipping address and I'll send it to you.

To add to what Panther said. There are 3 connectors on the assembly. 2 are the same size so you would want to mark them. The wires on the 3rd are rather short and only protrude out of the housing a little. It only took me a couple of minutes to replace the whole assembly. Looks like 2 small screws hold the MIC switch in and then the switch plugs into the circuit board so there should be no soldering.

Got the switch mounted with no problems. As Panther showed in her pics, two screws hold plate over the wiring harness over the switch on the inside..under that are two more screws that actually hold the switch in place. Once those are all removed the outside portion comes out and the little mini-stick can be pulled out. Put it back in with no problems other than that I must have rotated the switch 180° since now VHF AM is backward and UHF is up.. LOL.. But it works fine..

Thanks a million...!

You could just reprogram in game to reflect the new orientation. Glad it all worked out for you, I hope that's all for you and you can enjoy the hotas.
