I semi-tried it. While FPS were higher and stutters were less in free flight over the Channel (land) it was a different story over London...stutter galore.
-ATI 5770 HD card 1GB Graphic Memory (4843 MB total available graphic memory)
-Intel i7 870 @ 2.93GHz CPU
-8GB DDR3 1333

Running at 1920x1080x32 @60mhz (tried 1440x900 too)
Ubi splash screen fix applied
SSAO = off
AA = 1x
Full screen = on
Anti Epilepsy = off
VSYNC = on
All settings at medium except
Damage Decals = High
Building Amount = High
Land Shading = High
The only other feature that is on is Roads.

One thing though I am not running the lastest beta patch. Do I need to for this fix to work? (actually the only patch I'm running is the official Steam Patch).

As anyone who has Rise of Flight knows, Rise of Flight does the DirectX thing with every update, so it's probably a good thing. Don't have any further info on the .net repair advice. All I can say is it works for me:

i7 2600 with hyper-threading disabled
Nvidea 580 3 gig
16 gig ram
Win 7 64 bit
Most stuff in the game set to high, SSAO off, anti epilepsy off, AA off (tweaked through Nvidea control panel), running last beta patch, not current one.

Hi Guys
JTDAWG and I are in the same squad, he has posted this on our site,atag and banana forums. The feedback from all those that tried it is positve most guys see at least some overall improvement. I didnot see a gain in frame rates but stutters greatly decreased to the point that I don't notice any.Frame rate slowed but no stutters or powerpoint slide shows over high player populated areas such as Hawkinge/Manston.The key is to do the Microsoft Net 4 repair first and then the direct X last. Your computer may asks to reboot after the NET 4 repair, this is normal.It worked for me so give it a try.

godzilla not sure if it will do anything for you.The main issue is I think the NET 4 files and Direct X files get messed up, which they shouldn't with any patch applied to this game be it Alpha or Beta.All the guys that have reported back are running the latest patch and are online.

I too am getting less stutters now after this suggestion, and this is with the latest Steam patch, NOT the beta patch! biggrin I ran the latest DX installer however, not the one in the Steam\Steamapps\common\COD folder...

Flying system below. Steam patch (not Beta patch). All settings max at 1920x1200 (except no mirror and AA0 in all my games).

Flew sightseeing yesterday over London -- stutters so bad it was not fun.

Tried suggestion. Flew same sightseeing mission. No stutters.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention thumbsup

So, stutters were NOT entirely the game's fault ??? It wasn't programmed as badly as feared ??? confused

To be honest Allen, I think the game is trying to make calls that the game expects to be there or that aren't configured properly. That's probably due to the order in which the game needs to install and reference system services like .Net. My .Net has been working perfectly for a few years... But this fixed that stutter issue! That tells me that the game is trying to run in an environment not similar to the average user, or even for experienced users like you and me. That to me is bad logic and bad programming.

I already know that the game is programmed badly because you can change some video settings in game, and have a stuttery mess. You can then relaunch the game and not change a thing but fly the same mission and not get a stutty mess.
