run, dont walk to the store and purchase them!
They add so much, and for the cost, it's a great value (50% off if you buy 17 or more). Just the experimentation alone is worth the cost!

I've loved the N.17 ever since they revised the FM for it, even when it still just had the one Vickers. It is just a blast to fly. I was in the middle of a PWCG career flying it when 1.026 came out and, LOL, after 1.026 came out my squadron moved on to the SPAD VII 150hp.

I haven't had a lot of time to really sink my teeth into the weapons mods yet, but will say I love the revised gun rof and synchronization as well as the new reload process for the Lewis guns.

So, no, the mods haven't changed my ROF habits....yet.

I have supported ROF since the beginning. I have all the mods except the weapons and I've even preordered the channel map and aircraft, but for some reason I'm not that excited over the weapons. The price point for each seems a bit steep when compared to the other aircraft or field mods for what's included and I think from a historical perspective these mods where not as prolific as the will be online now. So this is the mod that I will play my "wait and see" card. It's not a matter of supporting the developers as I have always and will always support them. So for me it has not changed my ROF habits

Many of these mods were quite common. There's nothing "wrong" from a historical perspective of a least giving them a try.

Although I bought all weapon mods, I use only very few of them. Yesterday I tried the double guns on the Tripe, but the loss of visibillity made me change back to one gun. However, the great win of this patch is for free for everyone: the new dispersion and rate of fire makes dogfighting so much more real. I havenīt been sniped to explosion from more than 300m since winkngrin

PS: ...but i will try to down a bomber with the rockets now beercheers

How you choose to use them, (after all, the user has payed for these).. is up to the individual.
Some people will use them just for fun, some will use them in their historical context, everybody wins!

All I can say is +1, end of story imo smile

I never fly the N17 or Spad VII without the upper wing single Lewis anymore. I also adopted the twin MGs in the back seat of my 2 seaters, where I find the biggest improvement is the ability to give orders to your gunner.

I have a strong liking to the twin forward firing guns on the Cl.II (and the additional guns on the Bristol Fighter can be tempting). I also usually fly with only a single Lewis gun for defense in the Bristol Fighter.

It is tempting to add a Lewis gun if I'm expecting to encounter two-seaters. However, the extra weight is too much of a liability when encountering fighters (at least that is my impression). So, I'll usually only dogfight with the extra gun if I'm in a Spad 7...

I prefer to mount the dual Parabellums in the German 2-seaters and jump into the back seat more often...I've found that the shredding effect at close range to be eminently satisfying when a fighter tries to get on your tail. attack

So far I've tried all the weapons mods including the rockets ( can't quite figure out how to hit anything with those ) and I have to say, my favorite is by far the twin Parabellums...however, the Bristol's twin Lewis guns in conjunction with her single Vickers or the twin Lewis's on the DH.4 with its twin Vickers are formidable to say the least. grrr

The Becker cannon on the Albatros D.II or in the backseat of a German 2-seater is quite lethal, but seems difficult to get hits at anything other than almost point-blank, so I tend to not equip it for missions. duckhunter

All in all, I would say my habits have changed considerably since the weapons mods became available, as the Albatros D.III with its trophy overwing Lewis has become my new favorite to hunt RE.8's with. thumbsup
