All of the cars except for the Formula Classics were re-worked in some way compared to the original GSC.
I read that initial plans were to not include the Classics in 2012, but there was quite an uproar about that so they did end up including them within the Formula Reiza series.

Just a heads up in case anyone else has done the 2012 install. I installed it, it ran great with no problems whatsoever. Then, by accident, I clicked on the original GSC icon instead of the 2012 one...getting old and can't see anymore... ... and after that, the 2012 install told me that I needed to enter my Serial Number. I got a "Internal Server Error" message when trying and then got a message that all of my activations had been used up. So, I requested more and received them today. However, when I tried the first time...I got that "Internal Server Error" message again, the second time I got a "This Activation Code has already been used once" message, even though I was inputting my Serial Number, not an Activation Code. Tried again, got the same message...tried one more time and was told that all my activations had been used....again. This is why I've always rather to have bought a physical copy of any software as opposed to a digital download. Edit - DOH! Be sure to run the .exe as an Administrator...fixed my problem right up! Have to tip my hat to Reiza's support, had two answers within 30 minutes and they even reactivated my Serial Number after I'd lost those activations in the process.

For those that's not familar with the Brazilian stock car series...which, I wasn't before GSC....here's a quick glance at the car shapes. This is the Peugeot, the Chevy model is similar to this, with differences for each model. Had to pick a Peugeot as my dad would be rolling in his grave if he knew I was driving a Chevy. Pardon the screenshot quality...haven't changed my .plr file to .bmp yet, so it was saved as a .jpg. The cars are close to the DTM cars, body style, that we ran last year. I just had to start painting and went with Vodafone as usual and it's still a WIP as I'm trying to find out the font for the driver's names on the side windows and the windshield. The new shaders in GSC 2012 really make a world of difference in the graphics when compared to rF1.

Well I tried the 1 hour demo.. but it only held my attention for 45 minutes.
I'll start with the positives:
+ Good textures and graphics for rF1
Now, considering they packaged this as a full game and could do any modifications they wanted, on with the negatives:
- Menu system looks and feels like rFactor, very dated. - The HUD is exactly like rF1, except they added a circuit map instead of a line. There are plugins for rF1 that do 100 times more than this. - No lap counter outside of the LCD. - No engineer or spotter; I expect a full game to have something at least as good as the Spotter Plugin for rF1, but to have nothing, not even tell me my laptime, is very bad. - When driving out of my pitbox I didn't know if I had to go left or right, at least have a man pointing in a direction? - FFB was OK, bit light.
So in the time they gave me to demo it, I definitely would NOT drop $30 for this game.

Thanks, Darren...they did get pretty extensive with the templates, too...individual parts mapped, all kinds of things. It's nice to be able to work with a template that actually lines up on the models. You also have 6 cockpit choices for each car through the genstrings. There's minor differences in the cockpits, and it allows you to add your own team graphics, things like that.
Sorry to see you didn't enjoy it, Ahmad...I've found it to be a lot of fun and the stock cars are a challenge to be consistent in. I didn't really look at the "features", as I'm pretty used to the gMotor engine and knew what to expect, I guess. There's really not much anyone can do to change the HUD or UI, besides layouts. GTR2's the same, as is every other gMotor-based product...just different in the way they present it is all.
Hell, rF2's HUD hasn't changed much either when compared to rF1 and their new UI's not something to write home about. I still think GSC's the best use of the gMotor2 engine(s) around myself. Sure, it's a dated engine, but it's trouble-free and that's one thing I like about it.

Downloaded this last night and fired it up this morning. Very cool! I've never liked rFactor but when I read here and was told by the guys at Inside Sim Racing that this was by far the best use of gmotor, I had to check it out. Took me 35 minutes to get it set up and I still didn't get FFB working good. Anybody figure out the best settings using a G27? And what rotation degree is best? At 900, it is way off. I tried 300 and it was not in sync with the on screen wheel.
Oh, and the sound is awesome! Right down to the tire squeel!

The new patch (v1.10) with the Mini is finally out. Try this little gem guys, it's really fun to drive. http://www.game-stockcar.com.br/en/downloads.html
