I've taken my lashing for jumping the gun on 1.26. Now, how do I get rid of the gauges on the screen? I'm sorry. My job is quite time consuming and I travel all over the USA and the world (London, Dubai, Sao Paulo, Singapore, San Francisco, Miami, Houston, Johannesburg, New York, etc. You name it I'm there next week or next month) so I can't spend much time on any one sim. But I'm on vacation (finally!!!) this week and trying to get in more than my usual 15 minutes per sim every two months. You experts won't have to worry about me showing up in MP, a big fat clueless target to add to your kill total.
I'll stick to single player. But seeing the gauges across the screen covering the cockpit, part of the plane, and the sky is really annoying. I've tried every single key, I think. Perhaps it's a key combination?

He means the alt, speed, compass gauges etc I think Laser mate.....not the aircraft icons, which you can take off by either holding left windows key down then 'G', right clicking mouse then clicking the gauge icon on the bar at the top of the screen or pressing G, or disabling 'simple gauges' in "settings" permanently, which is the best idea if you don't want them. They have probably been set to "novice" or whatever after the patch, which is common. Go to "quick mission" and change "simple gauges" in "settings" from there. Glad to see you've calmed down now Plainsman lol...."Dramatic complaint posts" are always funny though.

They all work though so he's got no excuse hehe.

Or even illustrated...:D That would be ideal, but I don't have time to read the manual. I have to catch a plane! A real one. Thanks for the advice.

That would be ideal, but I don't have time to read the manual. I have to catch a plane! A real one. Thanks for the advice. Aw come on, Plainsman, a big world traveler like you, you mean to tell me you don't carry a laptop/tablet with you on your travels? The manual is a PDF and can easily be put on any device (smart phones, too) and what else are you going to do on your long flights? Chase the flight attendants? I also thought you were on vacation? Just get cancelled? Seriously, I'm a little surprised that you have an interest in playing these types of games that aren't learned in a couple of minutes when you have so little time to devote to them. I mean how are you going to learn them? I hope it's not by just coming on forums to rant when you get frustrated when things don't work like you expect them to and you can't be bothered to read how to even set up your games or read the manual to find out how they work... just doesn't seem like a formula for success and when you come off like you did in your first post on this... well, let's just say it didn't put you in your best light. Not trying to knock you here but it looks like you're setting yourself up for a very frustrating experience. I do understand your attraction to flight sims and such but if time doesn't allow then shelve them until you do. But it's not cool to come on a forum and just diss a game that you obviously don't have a basic grasp of how to even set up and then blame the game for it. If you only knew how much this game is a project of love for this team. The hours that these guys constantly put into working on this just blows my mind so you can just imagine what they must think when they see someone come on a forum after releasing a major patch that drastically changes how the game is played (talking about the new bullet dispersion and synchronizers here) and it's obvious their issue is on their end and not with the game but the person claims the game is a "MESS" and "junk"...

QFT!!...if it were me, my first reaction would be to re-edit the title of the original post....maybe even to something like "Plainsmen is a MESS", just to show remorse. Although Mea Culpa was a step in that direction, it still allows for one thread to die out....and another to stay current. ...just think of all the new folks coming to read up on ROF before trying....and you leave a thread title like that. It almost looks DELIBERATE. That or just a childish cry for attention. ...either way, it doesn't paint you in a very good light. Just my two coppers worth.

He's aalready pologized for his mistake; no need to rake him over the coals on Internet etiquette... Yes, after long hours at work its easily done, the filter between brain and keyboard can fail. Anyway, I'd suggest printing and binding the manual, with all the traveling you've been doing it would make for a great read!

I spent 20+ years in planes around the world myself as export manager and I always read the manuals ( even the 600 pages manual of Falcon 4.0 at the time...) Planes are a very quiet place to read manuals...lol
