There seems to be very little interest or posts in WarThunder {Gaijin) SimHQ forum. Is it because the majority of the forum users are on the beta test team? How's it testing boys?

Someone will be along to sing it's praises, but I didn't like it.

I think there are a few of us in beta. It's still closed beta, so I can't talk about it much, but when it switches to open beta, I'll have a few things to say...

I agree there is another forum, but I want to hear input from people familiar with the IL-2 series.

Chivas, you should really not get any input or comments at all because an NDA has been agreed (and should rightly be honoured). I may or may not have been in closed beta for a few months.....So hypothetically speaking, I 'may or may not' have been consumed by an Existential crisis in which I'm not even sure if I exist....never mind this game of which thou hast spaken. zombie Søren Kierkegaard and simming do not mix. hahaha

Will be open soon enough anyways I would think, so people can judge for themselves.

*twiddles thumbs, 'enigmatically' *

If you played il2 1946 you will feel like at home flying War Thunder FM and DM wise (the fm and dm is constantly getting better with every patch). I used to play il2 1946 fanaticaly for like 5 years in the HL dogfight servers and in the online wars, and i'm very happy with War Thunder.

There will be a mode called 'World War' which is a big secret among Gaijin and is supposed to blow out of the sky every other sim competition currently because it will allow people to fly planes, ships and tanks all at once on a massive territory with many people on dynamic battlefield but not much info is available on it right now.

If you played on Hyperlobby on dogfight servers you will feel like at home also, because there is an option for instant combat that feels like the dogfight servers from HL.

There is co-op up to 20 people for those who like to fly together.(which involves a dynamic map, something like the gennadich server from il2).

The game is beautiful, it has the best graphics in any sim to date, and is very well coded. On my 5 year old PC i run it with 40 fps on medium settings and it still looks better than anything i played.

And that is only small portion of what you can experience in War Thunder.

All in all this sim (if you call il2 1946 a sim, then this is also a sim) is going to be a massive success, it already is as fun as il2 1946 and most of all don't forget that currently it's only a closed beta. I can't imagine how good will be the final product.

(all this info is available on the main site btw wink )

I'd said in a previous thread that if this game was anything like IL2 1946 I'd be more than happy to play it.. glad you are confirming that smile
I miss those days on HL, playing on co-ops and online wars, loved it.
I'd mentioned previously about going back to IL2 as CLoD just seems to be completely broken, but the thought of sorting out all the different modded versions again just leaves me cold.. I'm hoping that war thunder can fill that gap in my need for WWII aviation.

I'd say you're being misled.
