Hi All

I've had a longstanding problem with the white triangles issue when scanning with TrackIR. Posted a plea for help "in another place" recently, and finally solved the problem with a complete uninstall/reinstall of OFF & HITR. Now it seems to work fine at long last.

However.. I now have a couple of final niggles. In my old OFF/HITR configuration, I had got rid of the annoying blue "status text" in the upper right of the screen, and had also reduced the size of the Tac display. Trouble is, I've forgotten how I fixed these! Can anyone please remind me?

Thanks

Mike

Mike,
Cfs3config, custom settings, "window" menu, overrides top right there are 3 for texts. Tick all those you will hide most all text.

I also had the white triangles with my Trackir once in Phase II, and once just recently. Both times they said it was a lack of video memory

The first one was 256MB, going to a card with 512 fixed it

This time I was running 896 MB DDR3, and for the longest time I couldn't afford more card, so I moved my head slower and it worked ( most times anyway) in combat they still appeared, but I was too busy to care much.

Now I've got 1512mb of DDR5 First thing I did was try to bring up the triangles. Couldn't

Thanks Polovksi, already did that, but they don't fix this particular issue.

I'm talking about the blue text that shows in upper right when "HUD" is selected, with info like percentage throttle setting, MG & cannon rounds remaining etc. I want to be able to make this go away. I did it before, but have forgotten how!

Grab it by it's left edge and you can move it anywhere, even off screen

Grab it anyplace else . . it won't move at all

PS . . . you might like to put it in the lower right corner, halfway off screen, so that only the numbers of the ammo counter are viewable, because I find it nice to know when I only have 87 bullets left. Telling me to head home avoiding contact, I still have enough to defend myself if need be. But it's Not the time to go looking for trouble, unless you have a Death Wish

Also what I find very useful, is the digital fuel gauge. If it shows 83.4% before an action, but 75.2% after. You have a minor leak pal nothing to get upset about, but start looking for someplace to land. Or you can forget about it, and run out of fuel at 9000 feet. YOUR CHOICE ! Chances are the fuel gauge in your cockpit showed 3/4 of a tank when you got the leak.
My Logic behind use of this CHEAT is the Pilot in 1917 could Smell a leak, We Can't

Also you can side the written part of the HUD Mostly off Screen so it doesn't ruin your immersion in the lower right leaving only that left edge visable

Before you go into action, you can slide it out and check it out

Yep what Uncleal said. Sorry thought you meant the messages that appear, not the data that you get when you press F5 but yes you can drag it off screen or whatever with the mouse. Dials you can move too (hold Ctrl whilst dragging if it does not move).

For the tactical awareness dial size you need to edit viewui.xml in (default:
C:\Users\<yourlogonname>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\CFSWW1 Over Flanders Fields

been a while but if I remember edit the BGScale= in these lines smaller number is smaller scale /size.

<TacticalDisplay BGIMage="tactical_display.dds" BGPos="0 0" BGSize="512 512" BGScale="0.30" BackColor="0x1f0000FF" Mode="0"></TacticalDisplay>
<TacticalDisplayMetric BGIMage="tactical_display.dds" BGPos="0 0" BGSize="512 512" BGScale="0.30" BackColor="0x1f0000FF" Mode="0"></TacticalDisplayMetric>

Thanks Both,

With your helpful advice have now fixed both issues. I knew there was a way - as said had done it before, but so long ago I couldn't remember how..

Thanks again

Mike
