In London today? If not, get to London, jump on the 'London Eye' in time to be at the top/zenith by at least 12:29..look to your right and slightly below!! You should see something very, very good..

'The route over London for the poppy drop tomorrow will take the Lancaster near the following landmarks in an East to West direction;

Thames Barrier

Millenium Dome

Canary Wharf

Waterloo Station

Millenium Eye

Houses of Parliament

Buckingham Palace

Hyde Park

Green Park'

According to ....Here..

Let's hope the weather plays ball for once.

I watched a short clip from the program that is on BBC2 at 17.00 about the statues. They represent a bomber crew looking back as if to look for the missing planes that did not return.
Amazing detail on each figure from Pilot to Tail end Charlie.Nice to see at last some sort of memorial for The Many (55,000+) that did not return .
S! Bomber Crew

Think I'll head down to the Embankment opposite the eye. Hopefully that'll put me right under the flightpath.

Cycled down and found what looked like a nice spot on the Embankment, just north of Westminster Bridge.

The five Tornados flew in from the north-east.

The Lancaster then surprised us by coming in from a completely different direction. It would've been a spectacular sight from the Eye. Sadly the trees and buildings obscured its path towards Green Park, so it wasn't possible to see the poppy drop.

After being out in the midday heat I raised a toast to the 55,573 who lost their lives, and to celebrate the anniversary of me being born.

I had to make do with the TV coverage, but they had some brief video coverage of the Tornado flypast and the poppy drop from the Lanc. Good stuff.

God bless 'em all.

Bomber command was virtually the only force able to take offensive action early in the war. I still get angry when bleeding hearts criticize what they did. They did their jobs and we should be thankful for that.

Had to do a bit of shall we say creative riding to get back in time, just about made it.

Sorry there not very good, taken with my phone.
I couldn't see a thing on my phone screen so just had to point and hope for the best.
Taken from the corner of Old Park Lane just by Hard Rock Cafe right opposite Green Park.
