SPOILER: Me anyway, probably... Yeah but if you end up sleeping on the couch that means that Italy won so it would be well worth it!

Hey, if Italy plays against us like it did against Spain (and thereby wins), I'll gladly sleep on the couch.... But if the Squadra plays like it did against England, and wins, I will burn my "Germany" jersey and never eat Pizza again! Ever! Honestly, Komemiute, I really was disappointed by Sunday's match. I was hoping for a better game, considering how weak England played. 35 attempts, and still no goal! Pirlo was great, as usual, de Rossi ok, and both Balotelli and Cassano harmless. But I really was missing the clever, flexible gameplay like the team showed against Spain. You know, with the 3-5-2 system during the offensive game phases, and 5-3-2 when defending. That was very, very effective (but I imagine very exhausting to play like that). BTW, I was watching with my ex girlfriend (we still are close friends) and her Italian family.

@Panzer: yeah well, not necessarily. Germany could win and therefore I'm not qualified enough to share the bed... @JayHawk: all you wrote is well under the paragraph of personal opinions and therefore well accepted! Can't wait to see the match! Where's the Ex family from? She isn't called Virginia, right?

Her father is from Sicily, her mama from Calabria. So I really had to behave myself, or else go swimming with the fish. She never thought my Godfather and Soprano's jokes were very funny. Her dad always laughed at them, though.

So she had no sense of humor. I guess it's best that things didn't work out. Well, that, and she's a little weirdo. I mean weirder than usual.

Truth is my wife is the calm and cold calculator kind. She doesn't really get heated up, and (her words) she'll be happy either way so... I'll be sleeping on the couch.

Should Germany win tomorrow, as a token of European unity and German-Italien friendship, I will carry the torch of international understanding and goodwill: in a simple but heartfelt gesture of solidarity...I will be sleeping on the couch as well*. * more likely, I will come home not too sober, and might just pass out on the couch

But today could be a very exciting game - or an incedibly boring tactical match. Spain vs. Portugal, the Iberian peninsula in turmoil, cousin against cousin. Proper Spanish versus the Spanish you speak after 3 bottles of Port Wine (= Portugese).... (just kidding ) Should be interesting. Portugal began the tournament rather week, but really found into the game in the subsequent matches. And Spain playing effective and detached, yet seem tired and not overly motivated (saturated?). Certainly not the same enthusiasm as in 2008 and 2010.

So your wife, the German, is the calm and cold calculator kind and you the Italian, are most likely the hot headed, passionate, emotional kind. I...am...truly...surprised.

Ronaldo! How did you miss that one?
Oh well, more 30 minutes.
I was predicting this from the start of the 2nd half. From the way the game was going It seemed the most likely.

And it's penalties!
Overall the game was balanced. Only in the last 5 minutes did Spain put any pressure.
But by then it was too little to late.
So now comes the lottery of the penalties.
