The 1937 GP mod for rFactor (1) has been released: http://www.virtualr.net/1937-grand-prix-for-rfactor-released

Gorgeous graphics, gorgeous sounds, but I can't get Reel Feel to work and I've spent hours messing with it, and I need some help and hints. Wasn't there an on/off toggle by hitting some key combination?

And where do I put the files? The dll in the Plugin directory I seem to recall, and what else?

Its been so long since I've driven rF that I just can't remember anything anymore.

I have a realfeelplugin.ini in the rFactor main folder and a realfeelplugin.dll in the plugins folder.

And in rFactor you should see a realfeel button on the Force Feedback tab in the controls settings.

There is some info here: http://www.nogripracing.com/details.php?filenr=20148

And these are these are the keys to control it.

Been testing this today. Have yet to leave the pitlane still facing the right direction let alone worry about FF! biggrin

Still trying to decide if the mod is downright brilliant or insane. Probably both.

There's a new version of RealFeel thats been out a while which combines some of the settings that Leo's FFB plugin used for lower speeds, something RealFeel always struggled with. It was developed for use with Game Stock Car and released afterwards for rFactor.

I don't have a download link off the top of my head, but I'll be happy to send it to anyone that wants it. There's actually 2 versions...one that saves the settings for a mod only and one that saves the settings for individual cars, like the original RealFeel does. The version numbers for these are 0936 and 0938, if you see find them somewhere.

Happy and delighted to report that I've solved my problem which was done by running JSGME as administrator: I switch mods in and out, and have the individual Reel Feel ini's and dll's in the specific mod folders so I won't have to remove any files for a mod that does not use Reel Feel. Setting JSGME to admin in compatibility mode did the trick. biggrin

Incidentally, I noticed that the 0936 and 0938 seem hard to find using Google and my usual hangouts, so if you manage to find working links I'm sure it would be appreciated. Maybe we could host them in the download section here? Hmmm. I haven't actually checked if they might already be there....

Getting some force feedback into the mod really was comparable to discovering Blondie (and Debbie Harry) for the first time, back in them days when. biggrin

And I must admit to admiring the mod groups courage in putting in the dynamic driver's point of view, and their wisdom in also providing a more traditional static headcam.

I went through every site I thought I found them out, but couldn't find a link....that happens when old age start setting in. biggrin

I'd be happy to send them to our illustrious Racing Director for hosting in case anyone else wants them.

I need to give this Real Feel business another go, the last time I tried it my wheel wouldn't stop shaking.

Ahmad, you really have to play with it some to get a good feel from different mods....editing values in the .ini file that the plugin generates the first time you run it. I've even tweaked some settings in the controller.ini file to help RealFeel.

I used to have that shaking too, but I haven't felt it in any mod since I started with the 0936/0938 series. As I mentioned, they're the same plugin, effect wise, just one saves your settings for every car in a mod while the other saves as individual cars, like RealFeel always has.

I tried it at Le Mans, meh, it amplified the little bumps and was too sharp for my liking, and I'm wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy past the customization stage in rF1. I'm pretty happy with the stock FFB smile
