Here are some daytime shots from Le Mans this year. I think they are all from Sunday. Although viewing is good at the track, it can be a bit difficult getting a shot unimpeded by catch fencing (especially for a short-arse like me!). Some creative cropping is needed to get rid of distraction in the background, so a lot of mine end up as letter box type views.
The Ferrari is getting the blue flag as they head off down the what is properly called Ligne Droite des Hunaudières, but understandably everyone calls it the Mulsanne Straight.
Porsche calls at the pits, 7 minutes from the end of the race. If I remember rightly a Ferrari it was battling with also had to pit soon after to avoid the driver being in the car for too long, and so the places didn't change. Very close!
The Audi train takes the chequered flag, and another race is in the books.

Cool photos. I think the longer exposures tracking the cars so the fencing gets motion-blurred works really well, even adds something to the images. The R18s are just awesome, although it's annoying they don't have any competition.
