All the races Sunday will start after the first chicane. We tried it in practice and seemed to go well. Starting Procedure: Roll off slowly from a standing start when the lights go green. After the first chicane, get into a close 2x2 formation. You'll get a "get ready" on Teamspeak. Then a "green, green, green" shortly after that on Teamspeak. Be sure you are monitoring on Teamspeak. Mic not mandatory. TS3 info: http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/3137414.html Hey Doug, I really like having the engine and other noises cranked up, and even though I have TS turned up to max I can barely hear anyone talk while I'm driving. I'll turn down the engine noise a bit for tomorrow, but at the "ready" and "green" could you say it loud? I'm just used to listening to the engine for shift cues (with a glance at my tach JUST flashing red). During today's practices I about missed the first Green call...I just went when everyone else did, and after that I'd barely hear something and just went. Practices today went well for me for the most part. I actually finished 3 out of 4 races and dipped into the 1:54s a few times for the first time. Unfortunately Ahmad and Pumbaa were hitting 1:53s in race trim and Ahmad hit 1:52 in Qual. One race I rolled and ended up finishing mid pack. The 30 minute race I lost it at T1 with 2 laps to go and touched the wall with my nose. When I got to the first chicane my brakes locked up and I plowed into the barriers...I guess something broke when I hit the wall at T1...lol. My goal today was to finish, and I'm happy that I did that most of the races. My next goal is for a bit more control...lol.

You're probably doing this already but it's a handy tip nontheless... with the DRM mod i reduce all the rFactor audio almost to the minimum. This changes the ratio between TS and the game. You can then increase the system volume until it's as loud as you need.

Once things look promising it's either a disco or something else. That's all I want to say about race 2, the sprint race and the racing day in general.

1:53.7 is that amazing quali time I did. 0.6a ahead of Darren. Wow. Race 1 began well, racing quite slowly to keep the car on track. Then both Birdski and Darren got me, entering the stadoum I misjudged my braking and hit Bridsi. Sorry mate. Got P7 finally. Race 2, well messy start but I could save it, and lap 2, entering the stadium again, I downshifted to 1st gear instead of 3rd :s immediate spin ! Back on track far from leaders, I kept pushing as others made mistakes, up to P7 behind Birdski, he did a mistake when I closed it up to 2s and then, that was my turn to run wide when closing to henny. Got P6. Sprint quali, well I did a mistake as usual ! P8 on grid, then a mistake at T1, and then anoter one I think, I don't even remember :P but what's sure is that I ended in P6 behind Saghen, who defended ... well hard :P at L6 T1, we hit, and after watching replay I admit it's my bad. He didn't spin, I hit the wall and damage the direction a lot. Saghen and Christian had their incident, but I couldn't resist Mark. Pumbaa's DNF gave me 5th. Overall, quite a disappointing weekend, with few points home. Waiting for Le Mans Finale !!

That was some great racing again.
First quali I was surprised to see Pumbaa at the top of the list early on. And with a low 1:52 too. And I was sure Ahmad would beat that. On my best lap I didn't have to feeling that it was really quick but some how I beat my pb by about 0.4 sec. That put me in P2 and Ahmad take both of us. With the top 3 this close I had to be a race.
After some close racing with Pumbaa I made my first mistake and fell back. More mistakes put me behind Ahmad. The idea was to stay close to Ahmad and reel in Pumbaa but he was to quick for us. More mistales from me put even my 3rd spot in danger for a moment.
The 2nd race was a little better not a great finish, but a lot less mistakes.
The sprint race was just awesome. Again it where Pumbaa, me and Ahmad that qualified on the first 3 places. When Pumbaa had a bad run through the 2nd chicane (or did I bump you there? It looked close but I think I just missed you) I could take P1 and Ahmad took P2. That was the start of a very close race. Once he was ahead of me braking in to the first chicane but he was on the inside and braked a little early. After that I knew I had to make sure he couldn't get a tow on the long straights again.I don't think he would back off again if he got an other chance. This time I didn't make any big mistakes and at the finish there was less than a car lenght between us. I'm glad that race wasn't one lap longer. I was pushing so hard that the engine health was down to less that 10% when I crossed the line.
These cars are hard to drive on the limit and close racing with very different car makes it hard to stay close and find a way past. But love every minute of it.
The next race will be fun. The 935 will do fine on the Mulsane straight, but the rest of the track we will lose time.
Thanks all for making this a great race.

Qualifying
I put it in 3rd position with a PB so I wasn't too disappointed at all. Both Pumbaa and Rob ran some superb times.
Race 1 Unfortunately I was bumped off the track at the start by Rob when he was correcting his line, it dropped me back to 10th, but no problem - a racing incident. The race was very frustrating from there because my HUD (I use rFDynHud) had disappeared so I was scrambling to get the rFactor HUD back, but the tacho gives different readings, so I was struggling to know when to shift and not blow the engine. Eventually I figured the proper place but it was still frazzling not having all the info on the screen, with it instead being filled with too much of the track.
I fought my way back up to 2nd place and was about 4.5 seconds behind Pumbaa. I then made a mistake and dropped back to 3rd, Rob then made a mistake and I was back up to 2nd but no chance to fight for the win. Overall a good recovery drive and can't be too disappointed with 2nd place.
Race 2
Starting from the back row in 13th, this start was pretty hectic. With Purolator being knocked off (can't blame Saghen too much, as it was a knock-on effect from hard braking, and we were told to bunch up, best thing I can say for next week is to keep a constant speed) it shuffled up the order a bit.
I was on the inside behind a train of cars yet Pumbaa was on the left with loads of space in front of him, so I saw him make up a couple of places at the start with free air. I made a very opportunistic move on Saghen, 2 wheels on the line/grass and got past him just before the corner, had to brake semi-hard to avoid hitting Rob. Then I saw Purolator driving clean round me on the outside which sent me left to follow him as I was accelerating faster than Rob. I wasn't sure if there was much room so I didn't dart to the left, just eased it slightly. Went round Rob and slotted in behind Pumbaa, passed Purolator then Henny and found Arthur in the middle of the road. Pumbaa went left and I went right, Schumacher-Hakkinen style, as we both passed him.
Going into the 2nd chicane I stayed cautious on the brakes and passed Pumbaa, slotting in behind Darren. Took Darren on corner exit under acceleration and saw a couple of guys go wide off the track. Stewart also went wide but rejoined just in front of me. I was much quicker than him in the stadium section but there was only one line, he crossed up in the penultimate corner and I was able take him on the inside... ending the first lap in 4th. Yep, that was all on the 1st lap lol. I suggest watching the replay!
On the 2nd lap, Mark went wide in the long sweeper and DaBirdski went too deep at the hairpin in the stadium section, putting me in 2nd place. Weasel_Keeper was about 5 seconds up the road as I set chase. I brought the gap down to about 2 seconds when he out braked himself heading into the stadium and I inherited 1st place. From there it was a clean run to the finish, setting some pretty good laptimes, and taking the victory.
Sprint Race
I qualified 3rd with a pretty poor lap, I made a few mistakes so I knew it was going to be tough to win it.
Again the HUD disappeared, which was very annoying but I tried to put it out of my mind.
At the start I came within millimetres of nudging Rob, but I'm not sure if we hit because I had no damage (and it was on 100% damage), maybe it was just a kiss. That dropped me back a few car lengths as I broke hard. Pumbaa and Rob were side by side going into the chicane which allowed me to catch back up and pass Pumbaa on the exit. I had such a good run that I was right behind Rob and had to lift a touch because I couldn't go right (grass) and couldn't go left until I was clear of Pumbaa so I nudged and muscled my way in a second later. I lost momentum and had to slot back in behind Rob, but at least I was in 2nd place.
On the 3rd lap I was able to get into Rob's slipstream and get side by side with him on the long first straight, but he had the racing line and was able to take the corner. I kept him honest for the entire 6 laps and he managed to bring home a great win by only 2 tenths of a second, leaving me in 2nd.
Can't wait for Le Mans!
