A: DCS is an open simulation environment, not confined to any one era, level of fidelity, or 1st party development. In the future ED and 3rd parties may add all sorts of different units ranging from gliders to X-51s.

Q: How is a P-51 supposed to fight in a modern Georgian war against modern aircraft and air defense systems?
A: It simply does not need to. It is up to the mission designer to put what units he or she wishes into the mission.

I'm enjoying myself creating Korea-style missions on all sort of targets with ZU-23 and similiar airdefence assets.
Add some P-51's in russian markers and things can heat up over target.

I hope they lose the tracers. Mustangs were not loaded with tracers - only a few near the end so that the pilot knew he was about to run out of ammo.

I haven't flown a combat sim in a couple of years now, just putting around in FSX, but I must say that I feel the urge to blow something up after watching that vid. Nice job!
