Another thoroughly enjoyable weekend at Le Mans for the twenty four hours, until the tragedy of Monday morning. (The story of that is down in Real World Racing if you need to know).
I've used a few filters on some of these, something I wouldn't normally do. But I thought I'd try and add a little impact to them.
Friday is pitwalk day, a fantastic opportunity to have a nose inside the garages and see the cars close up, and often in bits.
The by now traditional cover shot.
Some people were hard at work down at the Toyota garage....
This chap is wrestling with the huge full screen tear offs on a Ferrari. Interesting technology, and you'll see this covering screens and lights all down the pitlane these days.
Nissan abstract.
Rebellion Lotus.
Under the covers of the nose of the Delta Wing.
Carbon nose assembly, very 'Geigeresque'.
Greaves Motorsport team lineup.
Brundle and Ordonez.
Gulf nose.
A slightly sinister pitboard....
The usual bedlam on the pitlane.
Chief engineer of #1 Audi Leena Gade was caught 'spying' in the #2 garage and politely escorted away by the mechanics.
Recovering her composure.
Waiting to pounce.
Set and ready to go.
Thanks for looking,
Gareth
