Upon arriving, I was welcomed by the Ringmaster and given an old Al;batros D-II to fly . I was told New planes only go to Old pilots with scores.

3 days later at 1400 Hrs ; I was lined up with 2nd Staffel for departure with the Baron at the throttle. High Cover, 5 Albatross D-111s was already off.

Somewhere over the lines

High Cover had spotted a Recon ( RE8 and 2 French Escort fightes flying low)



The fight was on.

Soon the recon was burning



The Baron signaled for 2 Staffel to attack the low French N-11's.

Wunderbar, I got him. My 1st Victory.

Meanwhile the rest of my flight found other things to do.






Upon landing, I report to the Barons office. all he said was why didnt I get the other aircraft ? I was dismissed and assigned to Jasta 10.
