I played it for the first time 1/4 paying attention and at least a couple of times when I looked up I thought it was Istanbul even though I quickly remembered it was supposed to be Austin after each time smile

The track seems too long. Maybe it's just the game though.

Like most current F1 venues, its a pregnant karting track. Yeppers, it is a Tilke.

It is a fairly long circuit, 3.4+ miles (5.5Km+) in length. Monza's about 3.6 miles (5.8Km), but you can bet the lap times won't be comparable, given the Mickey Mouse design(er).

I still say it looks like some of Tilke's best work (Turkey being his best)... That section after T1 reminds me of the Becketts complex at Silverstone... The only sector that looks like a pain is the final sector with it's mix of slow and tricky to apex corners... Should make for a decent race...

Thanks for posting.

BTW, how is this game compared to FS One 2009 in Rfactor 2?

I prefer to drive without any driving aids on. Does the Codemasters game allow for this with a real feel?

It seemed like the driver in the video was able to get a pretty real experience with the over reving and slides.

The downshift audio sound needs a little work though! Sounded pretty tinny.

Thanks for your input.

Dunno it isnt released yet, the previous F1 games are more just a general racer not really simulations more pick up and play type games for the masses, i don't expect that to change, much prefer F1 mods on rfactor over these Codemasters games, plus the Penalty System is CRAP on these games as well, i hear no end of my mate in the next room along complaining about it, especially when the game glitches and gives you penalties when you have been rear ended :/ pretty sucky, but who knows they might surprise everyone with this addition.

Thanks for your reply. I did not know the new game was not out yet. I guess there is hope as the video looked pretty good.

If F1 2011 is any indicator, then driving without any aids on will be fine. As for allowing a "real feel", I'll have to refrain from commenting on Codemaster's work on the Formula 1 franchise when it comes to that other than saying Mario Kart's about as realistic as their previous works are.
