Speaking as a frequent participant in the SimHQ Arma 2 game nights (I hold no official capacity), I was eager to see what effect the addition of more addon units/islands would have on the player count in our sessions. From what I see, we've gotten a few more players on each night and Tactical Thursdays is a bit more comparable to Mondays, whereas before, we were getting around 6-8, maybe 10.

Over the past few weeks, we've seen some new faces on the server and that's cool to see. Thanks for joining! clapping

I'm just curious though. We've had 107 people (at the time of this post) indicate agree to the conditions to download the mod, etc. I think we've had about 25% of the people attend one gaming session or another.

I was wondering what was the reason that more people haven't participated in a session or two, particularly those that haven't participated in a SimHQ session before.
I would imagine the most popular reasons would be work/family conflicts, time/day of the sessions, etc.

Please don't misunderstand me, I understand people have other things to do, but I was just curious why we have 107 agreers and still have around 16 people max on the server.

I'm one of the ones who agreed but haven't joined a session yet. Now that I have a new PC that can run ARMA 2 very nicely, the biggest reason I haven't joined a session yet is because of the time difference. I don't live in the USA, so the time the sessions take place at tend to be when I'm asleep.

I don't quite have all the addons installed and TeamSpeak setup properly yet, but those are the easy fixes. I may just have to sacrifice some sleep and join in a game, because I've been wanting to game with the Thursday crew for awhile.

For me, it's the time of day that MM and TT occur. I'm currently working nights.

Then you need to move where HogDriver is so you'll be awake when MM happens!

As one of the recent Agree'ers, I plan to join TT soonish, real life work and schedule and lack of hardcore familiarity with Arma2 were the things that kept me away in the past.

Lots of DayZ has gotten me past the lack of familiarity with Arma2, so now I just need to have a thursday where the schedule works out for me here on Pacific time (GMT-8), so I will see you guys soon.

Schedules are always tough, but I want to encourage anyone who is concerned about their familiarity with ArmA 2 or their level of "tactical sophistication" to join in.

If you can move and stay with a group, and pull the trigger on your rifle (and not pull it when so told), you can comfortably play with us in a non-specialized role such as Assistant Automatic Rifleman or Rifleman when it comes time to pick roles. Not everyone has to be the JTAC calling nine-lines and potentially blowing up the whole squad, or the AT Specialist making that crucial 600m shot.

Your fire team leaders will help you out, and so will other players.

Timezones are what kill me. I used to be a regular at MM, but I PCS'ed (about the time Tao came on scene) to the Pacific Time Zone and it's rare I can get on during a normal session. In the mean time, I enjoy using Tao's EXCELLENT SD mod for my own amusement in personal missions.

Seriously, Tao. I don't think I could go back to Vanilla...and I think I even figured out my issue with RH's weapons and SD mags. Thanks again.
