Artillery spotting is lots of fun. I would fly two-seater career missions a lot more if I could count on more arty spotting.

Working on recons now. Getting the camera to work is a bear, but I think that I have a working model. Putting it into code now. The player will be required to take a picture at each recon WP in the mission path. As each picture is taken the next WP is activated. This is for players only. AI will continue to do what they do since there is no real difference in terms of flight path.

Once recon is done artillery spot is next. That promises to be even more difficult,but maybe I will be pleasantly surprised.

Does anybody have any insights to the artillery spotting mechanism? I took the practice artillery spot out of the template directory and took it apart. It is pretty much a series of timers and activations linked together. It sort of makes sense but ... not entirely. One of those things that I can figure out over time but an explanation would save me lots of it - and I don't have that much time so any boost in understanding would help.

What I am looking for is an explanation - as detailed as possible - of the MCUs that form the grid and the firing units. Why do they chain together as they do? How is the grid formed? How does the translation from Media to Activate to fire to stop firing happen?
