Good to hear they took the feedback and added TrackIr and rudder pedal brakes, the first one is the main reason I haven't touched Flight for a long while... even though I've come to enjoy the Maule flying without TrackIR just feels like a chore.

I'll probably pass on Alaska unless it delivers a high level of detail in the majority of populated areas, but I am interested to see what they deliver, if they can deliver something like Hawaii detail for all of Alaska and it comes with a decent plane like an amphibious DeHavilland Beaver and TrackIR, then I might check it out at some point, as a fan of Flying Wild Alaska it might be cool even without ATC or AI.

For now I'm having too much fun with FSX and Orbx and the cool planes that have come out this year (RA Legacy, A2A P51D, Carenado C90)

It's nice to see the toe brakes and TrackIR in there, since 1) They're good features to have in there, and 2) it shows they're listening to the feedback and making decisions based on it.

I got bored with Flight and recently spent a lot of time tricking out my FSX install. I'm looking forward to finding out if the update and Alaska can lure me back over spend more time and $$$ on Flight, or if it'll make more sense to keep investing in FSX.

And even though they have released this information no patch has yet been released, checked it last night and found all my previous accomplishments were lost and had to start over which only reinforced how utterly boring this title is.

That sounds like a real PIA. If that happened to me, it would definitely make it a lot easier to just say "F it", and stick with FSX.

I hadn't played Flight in weeks/months, but fired it up yesterday after I saw the announcement. I took off from Kapalua-West and turn out over the water. Damn, the water, waves, and reef looked nice. There's a few things Flight has going for it that are keeping me from giving up just yet...

The only good thing about my dog waking me up at 2:45 and me not being able to go back to sleep is being surprised by the Flight update!

The main menu now has an Alaska background, and there is some Alaska footage in the game's intro video. And...

TrackIR support!

Thanks for the heads up malibu, the 2 new weather themes looks also nice (and are even dynamic - the mixed theme at least...) and the "fair weather" has been improved (no more repetitive pattern with small clouds). The music in menu IMHO is better but that is a matter of individual taste.
Now waiting for Alaska...

The new intro movie has also revealed the next plane (presumably the one that comes with Alaska) will be a Carbon Cub!

I don't know where this movie came from (new intro with the update?) but there is the (or one of the) new airplanes. What struck me..is still that silly water with the big waves even where they shouldn't be. Wish they could get multiple types of waterclass in this new sim..
