It occurs to me that we really should be thanking the Microsoft Studios team right now. If they hadn't so badly screwed the pooch with Flight and left all the third- party developers out in the cold, would they be flocking to sign contracts for content in DCS: World like they are now?

Beach, you might be right- MS might just save the Flight Simulator industry after all- by generating new business and interest for Eagle Dynamics and the DCS brand!

I just hope that we soon-ish hear from someone creating a new map. I love the DCS series but I'm soooooo tired of flying over the Black Sea region.

I want the Nevada map. And the Afghanistan map I saw someone working on months ago.

Or even the nevada map?...................................

My only concern is that as the conversion grows with 3rd party developers wanting to move to DCS and what can be a suddeen growth. Does DCS have the road mapped out correclty to take on this swell of activity without causing too much disruption to the end consumer.

They have not exactly shown or communicated a clear strategy to us in recent past - in fact its been quite poor.

I do hope they can handle the growth correctly, if they do it well - it could make them THE combat flight sim, or it could end up very messy indeed.

Yes..the recent announcements have been eye watering. I hope they stay true to their brand... I haven't seen any civil aircraft mentioned yet..but that would sure be cool...!

I just hope that DCS doesn't dumb down the flight models/avionics. I'd like to see them make FC3 with the same fidelity as the A-10/BS2.

That said, the 3 aircraft I want to see are the F-14, the F-15E, and the Apache (with honorable mentions to the Tornado, KA-52 Alligator, and SU-34) with all the switchology they can stuff in it.
