Confirmed by Matt Wagner:

"Core Tex Designs does indeed have a license agreement. However, they are very early in their development and have decided to jump into the very deep end. I wish them the very best and also will be curious to see how they resolve some of the technology challenges posed by this aircraft."

While it would be awesome to have this jet, I have come to realize that the DCS theatre needs a lot of work, otherwise things lose their "shine" quick. I never would've thought I'd grow tired of DCS A10... beautiful graphics, in-depth systems... but after a few short weeks in Falcon BMS, the gaps in the DCS engine have been highlighted.

I dream of a future wherein we can mate DCS eye candy and BMS (or Falcon) theatre and dynamic campaign.

Or hope that mission designers step up their game seriously.

But at the very least, when this comes out, it'll be another year or two lost in learning the new toy biggrin Win-win-win situation for everyone!

Deep end indeed. I'll just be curious if these developers can live up to the fidelity of the DCS brand. Somehow I suspect they might not fully understand what they are getting in to.

Hopefully Curt Shilling isn't the lead developer for the studio.. wink

It's ok, this means that it's still possible the next DCS mystery plane could be the F/A-18C...

Well, ED have certainly dropped a few bombshells these past few weeks.

The Hornet does not interest me much but if the DCS brand keeps delivering to the standard we've become used to I think modern air combat fans have a new golden age of flight sims.

Just deliver a slew of 60's era aircraft and I'll be happy too.

A very fine weapons platform.

Personally, I prefer airplanes.

Oh Dart.. I'll bet if you turned all the MFD's off and just put the stick and throttle in your hands - you'd find a way to have fun with it.. biggrin

My favorite "weapons platform"! My DCS prayers have been answered.
I think the Janes FA 18 community will be all over this.
