Core Tex Designs does indeed have a license agreement. However, they are very early in their development and have decided to jump into the very deep end. I wish them the very best and also will be curious to see how they resolve some of the technology challenges posed by this aircraft.

Hello all!

On June 15th, 2012 we shared a development photo of the project “DCS: F/A-18E Super Hornet by CoreTex Designs” to a small amount people that liked us on Facebook. It quickly went viral, and not just to the ED forums, but all ov...er the internet. We have been keeping up with most of the posts, and yes we plan on a high fidelity aircraft (with hopeful information from Boeing, the US Navy, and possibly other Naval Aviators). We are discussing the incorporation of some type of aircraft carrier add-on as well.

CoreTex Designs is a team of individuals that are looking to create a high quality DCS add-on to the best of our ability. Some of our members have years of experience (including degrees in Game Art & Design) and with years of experience in the flight simulator community. All in all we all have a great amount of experience in the flight simulator world.

On the issue of the “TurboSquid” model being used. To clarify we are using the “TurboSquid” model as a basis of our model. This was a decision made by the game development team to save months of work, and relief some stress put on the whole team. We do have all the rights to use, and publish this model. We plan to heavily modify this “TurboSquid” model in the near future to make it our own.

We are sorry for the confusion of what the group is and how it works. Like we stated, we didn't mean for confusion and assumptions, and we especially didn't mean for it to spread so quickly, let alone spreading at all. We will also be announcing our product officially, very soon.

REMEMBER, the aircraft is in very; very early stages of development. All raised flags and questions are just still assumptions or rumors that were raised around the community.

We are very thankful for all the support we have received over the past few days.

For any questions and/or comments, concerns, suggestions or information please contact our development email, we will be happy to take a look!

Best regards,
CoreTex Designs

Could be less clumsy, but what they wrote was a valid sentence, that made sense. "Overall, the entire team..."
Certainly not as horrific as some of the stuff that comes from the East European developing houses from time to time... thinking particularly of CLoD and early releases from NeoQB before Jason took over Western PR.

Well, that was only one bit of the whole release.

"Hopeful information from Boeing.." (Because Naval Aviators often suffer from depression..??)

"CoreTex Designs is a team of individuals that are looking to create a high quality DCS add-on to the best of our ability." Not a particularly inspiring sentence. I can produce things to the best of my ability and that would really be a sad state of affairs... thumbsup

"This was a decision made by the game development team to save months of work, and relief some stress put on the whole team." I think they mean "relieve some stress".

Then throw in about a half a dozen more grammatical errors (comma and semicolon misuse) and you start to scratch your head.

I'm not being a grammar Nazi or anything..not with my penchant for using periods <g>. All I'm saying is that they are undertaking what might be (arguably) one of the more difficult aircraft in the lineup to model. As such, you have to be a bit of a perfectionist (ie: Matt Wagner, CJ Martin) to pull it off. Their first public communication was riddled with mistakes and lack of attention to detail. All I'm saying is that it doesn't put the best foot forward in my opinion.

I'm willing to judge them on their final product though..
