From the Banana forum:-

http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=32671

Evening gentlemen,

A very short update today. We’re continuing to work on the patch. It’s largely done but DX9 stability remains an issue so we’ve had a quick discussion a few minutes ago and decided to let it simmer a bit longer.
We did make some progress this week. On the graphics front, we did make a lot of improvements on the always troublesome DX9 support, and we also fixed a lot of smaller bugs and made some improvements to the clouds.
On the aircraft front, we’ve done virtually everything we wanted to do, and we’re now working on improving the AI FM, especially focusing on removing controls flicker and the barnstorming maneuvers. Most of this work is, of course, based on the very helpful reports and suggestions from the community.
We’re hoping that we’ll have a playable stable version of the patch ready very soon.

Have a great weekend!

Poor choice of words indeed...

How a patch that was supposed to be ready over a month ago and fixes they should either be working double time on or dropping completely are still in development because they "let it simmer down a bit longer" is beyond my understanding...

Rarely has a screen name ever been so aptly chosen as Black Six's, as its initials perfectly mirror what he's been - and continues to be - serving us week after week for over a year.

Cheers

Nico

You're welcome Bisher! smile

Bummer that there's more waiting. I'll take their reasons for the delay, ie DX9 problems with a pinch of salt I think. Without wanting to sound too 'glass is half empty' I hope the upcoming patch isn't another one step forward and two back. I was also hoping they'd address the pea-shooter like gun sounds fairly quickly as well.

I have a renewed interest in CloD since the release of Heinkills' excellent missions/campaigns and the Desastersoft add-on, without those I think I'd be long gone.

I sense time is of the essence for the devs. I don't visit the Banana forum that much (except for on update days) but it seems to me that it's as quiet as a graveyard at times. Maybe that's because everything that can be said has been though...many times over smile

Ya buggers certainly have not met my time schedule either. I assume it's because making a flight sim achieve the potential CLOD shows is a very hard task, development team changes aside. But some assume it's the result of what? Incompetance??
