I love the scene when the Nazgul arrive at Minas tirith and we get the top down shot of several of them beginning to "divebomb" the city.

When ever the world ends, I think this movie or trilogy of movies will go down as one of the top ten classic films of all time.

For what it is worth, I thought Sam was the true hero of the story. Both in the book and the movies.

As far as that particular battle scene goes, my favorite moment was when Eowyn said (from IMDB):

Quote:
Witch King: [taking Eowyn by the throat] You fool. No man can kill me. Die now.
[Merry stabs the Witch King from behind; the Witch King shrieks and falls to his knees. Eowyn rises and pulls off her helm, her hair falls down over her shoulder]
Eowyn: I am no man.
[she thrusts her sword into the Witch King's helm and twists; he shrieks and implodes]

Wouldn't you like to see the entire battle at the end of the First Age? The one you only see a glimpse of in the Fellowship.

Someone needs to do the Silmarillion. The battles from that have Melkor leading armies of 1000 Balrogs, and hundreds of Dragons. Sauron was just a lesser demi-god/captain under Melkor. Those battles litteraly broke up all of Middle-Earth.
