I read something similar about Dan Gurney years ago. I think it was Brock Yates that said it. Claimed riding with him in Dan's minivan was an eye opening experience about how it was the driver that made a car fast, not the car. Passing everyone up in a minivan driven by a legend was a wild ride. LOL

On the Stig, I don't see why anyone wouldn't want to do it. Even being in the reasonably priced car gets major stars giddy and the F1 drivers get pretty competitive about it. LOL

As stated above in the thread, the Schumacher thing was a gag.

It wasn't so much a gag as it was that it was Schumacher's personal FXX.

Stiggy doing hotlaps would take little time...

...but recall that when a "star in a crappy car" has to do practice laps all day to set a decent time, Stiggy Wiggy is coaching them by radio! That could become time consuming, especially when days would have to be cancelled due to weather or the star can't make it that day after all. So...more time consuming than simply blasting around the track in your uber-fancy custom Ferrari gift from the company you worked for so many years!

But who knows, if Shumacher likes meeting other celebrities, I'm sure he could change his schedule to do whatever he wanted! Heck of a disciplined driver...

Schumacher's not the stig. He was 'revealed' as the stig after he drove the FXX around the track. He was driving it because it was his car. One of the reasons they removed the FXX from the board was because it wasn't actually the stig driving.

Plus, I am the stig.

I thought they removed it from the board because it wasn't a "street legal" car?
