Also, Vintorez, thanks a lot for your manual on the SA-2. Just to be clear on the tracking modes in real life, RS is manual tracking by the FCO, AS is manual tracking by the manual trackers, and AS-AP is autotracking, all modes can track with or without a real target on the scope to track, for instance, if I shut down my radar in AS-AP after initiating a lock, then the system would continue to track based off of the computer? No, RS is manual tracking by 3 operators (azimuth, elevation and range), their screens are like FCO's, but only in 5 km mode. AS is autotracking by the system... On SA-3 - the same, but range tracker is the FCO itself, and 2 operators on F1/2. Check here: http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/3574980/281.html

aaaaah ! one old post rise up again guys no terrorrist team used shilka ! because using ilga and stinger is very very easeiest than shilka ! that terrorrist must bee idiot ! if they want use shilka for hit aircraft that who person said terrorist used shilka for hit civil aircraft !!! please note it in the one post ! if this realy happend done ! I have to agree with this, just imagine how "discreet" the ZSU is and especially when parked in the vicinity of the airport Handheld missiles are perfect for such a case, somebody can get near the airport, shoot and in the following chaos can get away without any notice.

ofcourse ! In my personal opinion ... I think terrorists team stiil at dangerous situation from nato and usa side. they must be idiot for using shilka ...shilka is a easy hunt for nato and usa UAV predator But on the other side!! maybe HPasp have a good raason for cancel shilka for sam sim also we need more axplain about mr.hpasp's reason! good source about attacking shilka to civil aircraft !!!date? year? location? type of hit? and more ![/quote] I have to agree with this, just imagine how "discreet" the ZSU is and especially when parked in the vicinity of the airport Handheld missiles are perfect for such a case, somebody can get near the airport, shoot and in the following chaos can get away without any notice.

As far as I'm concerned, there are so many other developmental directions that if he doesn't want to make the ZSU, it is fine with me. I'll actually prefer if he makes the SA-8 or something.
Come on, that last SA-6 in Hungary. Is it dead yet?

That's indeed not exactly feasible. But given the sensitivity of the issue...(Strangely, some more serious FPS's like ARMA II are already capable of doing, as far as I can tell, a kind-of-accurate simulation of various MPSAMs, including those which have been used on terrorist attacks. Imagine the public reaction if some big ones decide to feature about that! -- If they cares.)

I'm dying of laughter.... excuse me dude... but i guess when mr.hpasp canceled shilka project i will guarantee he never develope sa-8 !!! this system is very very very dangerous than shilka !! because this system is very good portable sam machine ! very small for hiding ! but i pray evry day for deactivate soon sa-6 until mr.hp can access to them As far as I'm concerned, there are so many other developmental directions that if he doesn't want to make the ZSU, it is fine with me. There must be some other reason, Hpasp. By the way piston, thanks for the reply . First off, most governments ( as fas as I am aware ) have no knowledge of SAMSIM. Also, you say a massive infastructure is not needed, but think, you need ammo, detailed manuals for things like maintenace, boresighting procdures, as well as gas, which can actually be tough to get.

Please name a situation Hpasp, why you deny us the Shilka, most aricraft fly higher than shilka's maximum shooting altitude except when they are landing. Also arkhangelask, remember that the SA-6 is continually receiving upgrades and will be in the Air Defence forces for a long time, only expansion opportunities are really in American SAMS, specifically the MIM-114. My guess is also that the SA-8 is secret as well.
