I keep waiting to hear something good about Clod. Every now and then I am tempted to buy it. After all, the price on amazon is a trifle, but then so many who have Clod say not to waste my money. I do appreciate the honesty. For now I will wait for another developer to take up the challenge of a good WW2 combat flight sim.

I'm surprised you're not more interested RoFfan..

smile (your username, I made a joke, kinda)

For single player reports, these are some that don't dwell just on the negative:

For MP, here's some taster videos of CloD in action:

When I jump into a cliffs plane I feel like I'm flying a plane built in the 1940's. It has an authentic feel to me.

Yes there are bugs, and some of it is frustrating, but I still like to fly my Hurricane.

The single player campaigns made by Deadersoft are good.

There's plenty of reasons to spring for it on steam if you are a hardcore flight simmer.

Caveat - I treat it as a study sim in progess , not as a complete game/sim/finished product.

Is it still a steam d/l only game?

If they'd released an offline/campaign version I'd have bought it.

That is a bizarre response, but somehow strangely comforting. Makes me think of 1965,
and the advent of Mod, when we clueless north american proles had to learn all about
fabrics just so we could be cool in high school: "It's a real wool hounds-tooth, man,
I will be so hip!"

I keep wondering how MG CloD team is able to pay bills/rent/payroll. There couldn't be much revenue from CloD sales in the past few months.

1C, who own MG, are one of Russia's largest software publishers (in business software and not just games). If they want to I imagine they could fund it forever.

I read that sales in Russia were pretty good, plus I imagine Battle of Moscow would do well over there as well.

I believe they could, but I do not think they are in the software branche for a charity cause, I even go as far as suspecting - God forbid' - an actual financial motive behind their activities. Now, CLoD sales been and gone, there is nothing more to be fetched out of it, there is no money to be gained "finishing it". What you are seeing is BoM development budget driving patching the CLoD as far as feasible (for BoM development) and that's it, so in this regard I would not make too much hopes for some additional CLoD specific content. Also,as I see it, they are also not in an immediate time pressure to deliver a patch, they need to have that duct tape fix for the engine about the time of the release of BoM, CloD customers serving conveniently as beta testers for BoM engine is just an added bonus...what matters more for BoM sales then, are the reviews BoM receives, not the level of customer satisfaction from CLoD purchasers wink

Whole thing has a flavour of Puzo's "Fools die", Oleg fitting the part of Osano the novelist...
