The flying in general is IFL is bleh, although it's been nice getting in the P-39 and FW-190 again.

About the release statement, isn't the crap release because of the misused time by the development team, not the bean counters? If the team would have used the millions sunk into it the previous 7 years wisely, it would never have been in the state it was.

Not likely the culprit. Every developer will make some decisions that don't work out, when the development takes years to complete, but the real story is usually far more complicated than that. If the investors thought for a second their monies were continually being spent unwisely they would have pulled the plug on the development years ago. I don't think it was a bad decision by the bean counters to release the sim unfinished. After the huge amounts of monies already spent they needed to know if there was still enough interest to continue supporting the development. Not to mention the much needed cash infusion. They knew there would be a backlash, short lived and forgotten if the sim was canceled, or eventually forgotten if they were able to successfully finish the Sim.

Good Morning!

We’ve completed most of the outstanding tasks this week, most importantly fixing most serious issues and speeding up the graphics engine. The game is now even faster, and the FPS slow-downs have been reduced even further. We are currently testing the new version and fixing various small issues as they are discovered.

Just really caught up with this update. the PE2 looks nice but it isn't really doing it for me- I can go back and fly PE2 missions in '46 and know it will work already.

The update sounds like more of 'The sun will come out tomorrow' to me. We've been here before with assurances of better performance and better FPS. Something along the lines of 'trees are sorted out', or 'clouds are back in and working' would be far more encouraging than generic 'its faster' comments. Anyone have any idea if the next patch is going to be an alpha v2, beta or steam release ? I can't find anything that says.

On the plus side it must be satisfying for all those who campaigned so hard for 100 Ocatane fuel variants of RAF machines to have them included. A bit more speed on the deck will be very handy online but for me the best bit will be having a Spit or Hurri with something other than an on/off switch for a throttle- that would be worth having on its own.

And a 64Bit exe, a method of rendering for 3 screens. Single curved, or 3 angled 'windows'.

My character somehow got all twisted up. I was playing the mission where you have to infiltrate the Golden Glow Estate and do multiple things. When I was out burning beehives and fighting I just eventually ran away to view my success from a distance. I first noticed it when I squated down on a tree trunk. Coot..the squatter../simHQ/2011
