I just got on, there is a notice on Battle Log saying they are aware of the SSL certificate issue. Solution for me was to clear my SSL state.
This is accessed by going to tools (the gear icon in the upper right of IE9), then 'internet options', then the 'content' tab, then press the button for 'clear SSL state'. Close IE and restart BF3.
In Chrome it is under settings, then look in the 'network' section. There is a button for 'change proxy settings'. This opens 'internet options', and you can see the rest of the steps above.
