They had a big shake up with the team working on it, I bet they changed direction a bit again.

We need a Rainbow Six revival. Heck, just remake Rainbow6 + its expansions and Rouge Spear with todays graphics and physics and I'll be a happy camper.(<-----heeheee that's sort of a gamer play on words )

We'll just make do with TakeDown and GroundBranch.

If they were to remake just Raven Shield with DX11 graphics, I'd be pretty happy.

But no one is going to go for planning maps in this day and age. That would take, you know, thought or something.

The first Vegas was not bad. The AI was actually very good for a console game, I was impressed.

Ever play Frozen Synapse? It's like the planning and execution stage of old Rainbow as a self-contained game. Turn based strategy, no shooter element. Gets deep as you get used to the options. Comes up cheap on steam sales pretty often.

I guess that the Rogue Spear Reborn deal never came to fruition. No updates or new posts. A pity, that.



I respect your opinion, but was always a little puzzled that people considered Raven Shield one of the classics. A lot of people seem to think the demise of Rs6 started with Lockdown, but RvS was the beginning of the end to me. The cartoonish engine, the silly physics (try to throw a grenade, or anything for that matter, while bent over and running...), the health meter, the "damage" meters on the gun stats...it was all just terrible. I found it particularly irritating that adding silencers to most weapons made them as innocuous as pellet guns; I bet that a subsonic .22 is quite still lethal @ 10m IRL.

I really hope someone does a recreation of the earlier ones. I bet that would incur some copyright problems from Ubi, though.

I totally agree with Phoenix. Even though I kind of liked Raven Shield, it was the start of the slide into a more mainstream style of shooter.

You can get the original Rainbow Six on GOG.com BUT DO NOT GET IT.

Some of the files were copied over wrong or something but the first scenario is unwinnable in anything above EASY mode because the 2nd hostage becomes invisible or something. Unless they fixed this, do not get it.
