That brought back a lot of memories. smile

The late 60s were a bit of a vague blur for me, but I was all over the 70s. The TV guide would have a special preview section every year for the new kids shows. Relatively cheap toys that used imagination and were fun to play with your friends. It seems like childhood was more about fun and adventure than safety. It was a great time to be a kid.

Johnny Quest. For what it's worth.

X2 on Jonny Quest, complete with Jeep downshifting and brake sounds. And the Superfriends. And Looney Toons, of course. With Creature Double Feature at 1300, after pro candlepin bowling IIRC.

Other than PBS, we only had half of ONE DAY a week to get in shows made for us--had to get up early to get them all in. And we got up to change the channel, walking to the tv on our own...uphill...both ways...through shag carpeting and freezing cold vinyl floors!

Start out with a little...

followed by...

the couch cushion fort is in full effect by now...

then time to move on to...

a little more...

brief pause for...

then...

...even parents couldn't stop this crazy thing...

one more time...

with NO Scrappy and we had the full gang of meddling kids...

then, the big one:

This was the early 70's. If you got up too early you'd run into the stoner show reruns:

How did they get away with the name of this one? Look at those eyes! LOL

LOL, if we got up too early it was Davey & Goliath. Perfect time for breakfast, I think!

I kind of enjoyed the animation on Davey & Goliath.

In Dallas on KXAS 5 it was Children's Hour that I remember. And "Land of the Lost", even at 3 years old I was captivated by the blonde girl.

And then the best of them all! "Mr. Peppermint"!
