If someone objects to me posting this image, I'll take it down as of course I don't own it, but at least I wanted to show some blur effect added to the sights to simulate human peripheral vision. It just looks more natural. I moved the tank clock out of the main field of view and off to the side- it's a bit of a distraction in my opinion to have something like that displayed over the primary field of vision. Caveat- nothing is to scale here, I'm pretty sure the range numerals aren't the correct font, this is just a quick thing I whipped up.

No one gets out of here alive.

I have waited for a long time for DCS to go this way (i.e. the combined arms way). I believe and hope this is only the beginning.

The dream of an electronic battlefield may soon be realized.

We're at 21 years and counting for me. It was before Falcon 3's release that SH was already talking about it.

And Spectrum Holobyte did manage to release two additional modules for their EBS.

To date the closest thing to a "electronic battlefield" have been BIS OFP/ArmA/ArmA II (maybe WWII on-line should count as well) and we all know that it lacks in fidelity for planes/helis/vehicles but it's the closest thing so far for us regular consumers.

I remember the lost Dynamix sims A-10 and Desert Fighters.
I remember the lost MPS/Hasbro F-15E.
I remember what B-17II SHOULD have been.
I remember a lot that makes me sad.

LOL! Yep, that was Spectrum Holobyte's vision. Based on the technology at the time, I doubt it was doable anyway. I had a lot of fun back in the day with Falcon 3 and it's variants both online and at LAN parties. DOOM and Falcon 3 were our staples.

OFP/ArmA/ArmA2 are close, but the game play really isn't persistent like WWII online or Aces High 2. Those battles rage on day and night, 24/7 with players from around the world.
