Well MechWarrior is pretty much my favorite game ever, and with the great new MW Online coming out... they have controller concept... thoughts?

Lol, is that an iPad in the middle? Looks good, but I'm not sure about aiming with a joystick.

That's not really that interesting outside of the force feedback joystick (just to see if it is better than the Logitech G940 force feedback stick), but glad to see Razer giving it a potential goal.

The only joystick I have found to be just as effective as a mouse in mech combat games is the Saitek X65f, since it has no stick travel, which actually improves aim as opposed to hindering it since you are not getting any resistance from springs when either moving or holding the joystick in a certain position.

I'm not fond of the mech green color either. And I also already have a dual HOTAS set up running and really don't want to make room for a third! smile2

I'm more concerned about the lack of throttle and pedals. Pretty big oversight, even for something pitched at MechWarrior fans.

As it stands, I could probably whip up a better setup just by getting a TM HOTAS Warthog, Simped F-16 pedals, and any random ELO TouchSystems monitor I can find.

Still, I'd like to see what they do with the touchscreen. Could bring us just a bit closer to having that Virtual World Battletech cockpit experience in our own homes.

I wonder if that is a sliding throttle (the black object) to the right of the keypad?

Looking at some of the other images here, that is indeed a little throttle.

However, I'd expect no less than a full-size throttle like a typical HOTAS setup. If they want to have the keypad, take a page from the Logitech G940 and put it before the throttle handle.

Thanks for the link on those much better screenshots. One thing I give them massive credit for assuming they don't change it is having a centering spring on a force feedback joystick. Not having a centering spring has always been a huge mistake by force feedback device creators.

Saitek had the general idea with the force feedback Cyborg, unfortunately, both the spring itself and the force feedback effects were way too weak. I'm now interested although I would like to see the stick be separated from the throttle, since there are definitely better throttle options out there. Unfortunately, it looks to be very much apart of the entire molding.

Yeah, tinker a bit with the TARGET and you can get much more than that out of a WartHog.

Minus the screen, of course.

It actually reminds me of the steel battalion controller. i really hope in a Heavy Gear 3 game because i find the first 2 more fast paced than mechwarrior series.
