Spectacular Arthur! Just now got a few minutes to look at it and you absolutely captured the series! Thank you for doing that beautiful work!

Thanks all for making this series possible. These cars a great, but you need a nice big grid to really enjoy there.

I had been out all day and jumped straight in for some quali laps. With a 2nd spot on the grid for the sprint race and a 3rd for the main event was all I could hope for looking at the times of Ahmad and Pumbaa.

The sprint race was more practice than a real race for me, as I missed the practice races on Saturday. I hadn't done any close racing before the sprint race. Right from the start I had some good fun with Ahmad and Pumbaa. Pumbaa used the full potential of the M1 to make it to the front before we made it to the end of the Mulsanne straight. Ahmad, Pumbaa and me ran 3 wide through the Mulsanne corner without make to big a mess of it wink
When the both of them went off I thought for a moment that I could pull out a gap and have a chance for the win. Of course that didn't work. Soon I had them all over me again. When trying to hold off Ahmad I was a little to fast going into Arnage. I spun and ended up right in front of Ahmad. Before I could recover Ahmad and Pumbaa where long gone. And without a tow on the Mulsanne straight there was no way to get back to them.

The main event worked out fine for me. In the first laps I could stay with Admad and Pumbaa (again). When I lost the tow after a small off they pulled out a big gap and I never saw them again.
Maybe that was better for me. In the first 3 laps I lost 15% on the engine health. The high topspeed and pushing really hard all the time did that. After they pulled out a bigger gap all the time I could drop back in to endurance mode and save the car. One spin in Indianapolis and one after the Mulsanne corner where the one real mistakes. And both without damage.
All I could hope for was that Ahmad and Pumbaa would force each other into mistakes and that I that way could get back to them. But that never happened.

Like others said, this race felt to me a lot shorter that 1 hour. That is one thing that will be different at The Ring.

How de we form the teams for that race? One Pro and one AM driver, but any thing else? Maybe team up the 1st and last from both classes?

One thing I hated about the ILMS series was that there were more than 2 classes of cars, same thing here but not as much as I had close racing at every track, but only with 1 or 2 people. I'd much rather it be only a maximum of 2 classes so that there's more people racing each other, but that probably won't be a popular opinion. And then, how do you choose which cars? I <3 the Porsche biggrin

First, everyone will need to sign-up to a general list of drivers who want to compete. Then the selections will be made at random, using Teamspeak and SimHQ Livestream.

More details when we get closer to the event. wink

I'm tempted to say we need 10 cars (20 drivers) as a minimum to run this. Of course, more would be better.

@Arthut: thanks a lot, this is a fantastic video, which I just stored on the HDD. smile

Race report: Well, I seriously wanted to drive the M1, but after a few shunts it was beyond repair... seriously, I decided against it because I really like the 320 and drove all races with it so far, hence I felt I had to bite the bullet and try LeMans with it, despite being without any serious chance. But that's the way real drivers have to go as well, if they are in a not-so competitive car.

The sprint worked better than expected, despite an unavoidable collision. But the car still drove, albeit slower. And in the main race I didn't miss my aim: to be not the last car of the cars still running in the race.

Well I have to say Arthur has done a great job with the video. I only got a chance to watch it after the races.
My races didnt go all that well today. but I didnt really expect to much from the Ford here. Main race I qualified 9th but a technical hitch meant I started from the back. I made my way back up to 9th place by the end of the race and to be honest that was as good as I could have expected from the car so all in all not too bad a day. Grats to Ahmad and Henny for the championships and thanks to Doug and Sim HQ for the hosting.
