Here are some photo's I shot on the 15th of december 2005 when JG-72 Westfalen, or Fluglehrzentrum F-4F as it was then called, closed shop at Rheine-Hopsten airbase. The base was closed and many of the aircraft went to other units or were wrecked on site.

Very cool.

It's such a drastic change from fighter jet to scrap heap the next day.

What a beast. Looks like this weekend will be the last time we see a Phantastic Luftwaffe Phantom display in the UK frown I went to Germany on holiday as a child and low Phlying Phantoms were everywhere, RAF, Luftwaffe and USAF..magic times.
