I know there's some long-time F1 fans here, so I thought I'd ask a question....what are some of your favorite F1 schemes over the years that might look good on today's F1 car shapes? Since rF2 wants to be a PITA for me, when it comes to painting, I went back to something I was doing to pass the time a while back...classic F1 schemes for the 2012 FSR F1 mod. Here's one that I always found pretty sharp. It's not as much a copy of the 1994 scheme as inspired by it as I'm way too lazy to make individual squares on both sidepanels. Well, now I'm out of ideas and was wondering if anyone had something they'd like to see from the older years of F1 on a modern car. I've made a OzJet Minardi for Mr Hill (Williams body) and a West McLaren (RedBull body) so far. The mod has the 2011 Williams, Ferrari, Red Bull and Brawn bodyshapes to work with, so there's some diversity in the models to work with, shape wise.

oh have they updated the williams body shape? i assumed it was the same shape as the one in the f1 mod we are running which i believe to be the 2010 williams? if its the 2011 williams then even better!
how about a 1998 Minardi Livery or the 1995 blue-ish Pacific F1 team, i think that would look pretty slick! the 1996 Forti (when it changed to the mysterious Shannon Groups livery)
Leyton House maybe? what about the Brabham that Damon Hill drove!!!! that would be a hell of a skin id enjoy!
The 1995 Tyrrell?
OOOOORRRRRRRRRRRRRR the 1999 B.A.R. weird scheme but i bet that would look good on a newer body shape!
pretty much anything minardi though with me lol
The Lola Haas F1 team (believe it was Red and Blue)

They're still the 2009 body styles....my bad, had the rF2 Master bodystyle on my brain when I posted. I was thinking about the 1994 Simtek and Williams schemes on the Brawn, as it's got the low nose like those models had...kind of a homage to Senna and Ratzenberger thing.

Early shot of the Ratzenberger Simtek car, adapted to the modern F1 carbody. Haven't even done the other side yet, just gotta fill in the black and then start looking for logos....think I'm going to do the liveries for a few, then get into logo mode.

Classic F1 schemes? Oh my, there are several which come to mind, and you did a great job on the ones posted above.
Here ist my list of classic schemes:
McLaren: Marlboro red-white and West silver-black-red
Tyrrell: in blue with elf sponsorship
The Turbo Renaults in black-white-yellow
The orange March with Beta sponsotship, driven by Vittorio Brambilla.
The red March 711 with STP sponsorship
The blue-white Gitanes livery of Ligier
Arrows: the golden Warsteiner livery
Lotus: both the black-gold JPS livery and the yellow Camel scheme
Jordan: the green 191 and later on the yellow design with either a snakehead, hornets or a sharkhead on the nose

Here's the start of the Jaguar R series...just for Stewart. I tried the Team Stewart scheme, but that pattern was a nightmare and was close to driving me to drink. I've already got a West Racing silver/black/red scheme, on the same bodyshape as the Jaguar (RedBull) and a Ligier Gitanes on the same bodyshape as the Simtek (Brawn, all body's are 2009's)...those were some of the first I done, always were among my favorite liveries, along with the Marlboro McLaren's which is on my "to do" list for sure. Maybe when I get done, I'll make myself a gallery somewhere...LOL
