Ok, so yea, haven't seen it yet, since it's not yet open in Canada or the USA...and many of us likely won't get the chance the first few weeks to see it, maybe have to wait for DVD...
...but for those who HAVE seen it...and without giving away any spoilers...is it any good?

Does it keep the sci-fi/horror theme of the original, or does it allow for more action a la Aliens? Your exact question is answered in this spoiler free review. http://www.nerdist.com/2012/06/lyt-revie...n-anticipating/I have my midnight premiere ticket

Awesome movie, not action based but more a "what happens next type of movie"
My best regards, Kodiak.

Cewl! Still not watching the newer ads on TV...marketing jerks seem to be putting too much into the previews...I want a near spoiler-free experience with this movie...but already I've accidentally heard a bit more than I really wanted to know. Last several days, when the ad would come on the TV, I'd mute it and hold my hand in front of me eyes for the duration of the ad! Silly and juvenile I suppose, but darn it I want the experience to be as Ridley Scott intended, not some preview editor's choice of "make it look like they'll want to see it desperately". Why? Because he's the artist/visionary and I trust him to make a great movie WAY more than I trust any preview editor! I wonder if they discover the meaning of life actually is 42?

Stoked to see this tonight at the midnight show. Unfortunately, I have been contaminated by some spoilers. It seems the weakest point is the plot... here is a picture of what the plot looks like... Specifically, the part that is not cheese... I don't mind movies that leave you to ponder some answers... heck, even to make up your OWN ideas and conclusions- as long as there are logical elements in the movie to drive you there. However, the feeling I get is that this Lindelof guy (writer) gave it a LOST kind of mood and direction to the plot. I happen to NOT LIKE LOST!!

That is really my only source of apprehension. That guy is a wild card.

I can't wait!!! God, I hope it's good, but if it's not; well, I lived through CLoD too. Lol, don't worry, it's not going to be that much of an anti climax! I saw it last Saturday, I haven't been so up for watching a film for ages, i'd been watching all of the trailers and viral ads and the film didn't let me down, I want to see it again, this time in 3D! I really enjoyed it, I think it fits in the Alien universe nicely, it's worlds away from AvP.
That Farrow bloke you executed today, are you sure he's dead? Well I chopped his head off, that usually does the trick. Yes, don't get clever with me Baldrick. I just thought you might have lopped off a leg or something by mistake. No, the thing I chopped off had a nose.

Cliffs Of Dover. The "spiritual" successor to the IL-2 series.

Saw it in IMAX last night and was really impressed. Really nice 3D application. Not for cheap effects, you really felt there.
Full house, nice crowd. Even some clapping and cheering at the end.
I may write something more detailed later, but I can say with all confidence, this is the best movie I've seen all summer.
Not perfect, but excellent in every way. The Alien connection is there, but this feels like a Universe of it's own. And even though some may feel disappointed if it did not happen, I really hope there is no sequel to this. More exposition will ruin it (IMHO).
Go see it in 3D...worth it.

If this film makes money there is no way there will not be a sequel. The story Scott wanted to tell from the beginning is not yet complete.

Bib4Tuna was right, ya'll! The 3D is great! And the movie . . . it fulfilled my hopes and expectations. In short, I was completely blown away.
The issue is not p*ssy. The issue is monkey.
