Posted on Combat Ace as well. Well it has been determined that I have to have quadruple bypass surgery sometime within the next two weeks. It seems I had a heart attack a couple of weeks ago and didn't know it. I will be out of action for a couple of weeks following the surgery. I went to see the anesthesiologist yesterday and he scared the crap out of me talking about strokes, uncontrolled bleeding, and a myriad of other complications that can occur. Just my luck WOFF will probably be released in the meantime. Just keep things going and I'll be back asap.

Don't know if they're still doing it this way, hopefully they've progressed past it. I had a quad in 88, when they're working on your heart. Your blood is being circulated, oxygenated, pumped via a machine.
To keep everything running smooth, mass quantities of an anti-coagulant is added to your blood. The drug of choice is HEPARIN, 1 x 100,000 are allergic to it. It CAN F*CK YOU UP BIG TIME.

I should be so lucky at LOTTO

There's been a lot of changes and progress made since 1988. See my post on CA - you'll be fine m8.

A friend of mine has got 3 bypasses, and it seems it was an easy routine operation.
1988 is loooooong ago - they have got so far since then.
Tony, I think you'll be back, before WOFF is released!

I did a full season last year. This year I am still at it. All of my chest pain is usually at night, wakes me up. I have never had any pain while on a ballfield. I promised SWMBO that if I ever did have any angina on the diamond I would pack it in. I've got one game Monday and a double header on Tuesday. Then that is it until I recover. I hope that I'll be ready for the College season in October but that may be a little optomistic.

My Ma had a quadruple bypass about 3 years ago.

She'd had several angioplasties prior to that, she was assessed for bypass, but docs reckoned she wouldn't recover from surgery. She has loads of other health issues, diabetes etc. She next had 2 or 3 more angioplasties, and then they began to fail. She got her quadruple as the last chance saloon option, and she's still kicking 3 years later.

You'll be fine Tony. Big scarey op to cope with in your mind, but it'll be over before you know, and you'll feel alot better afterwards.

All the best Tony. I'm absolutely sure you'll be back in the skies and out on the field in no time at all.
