yes, I had zero spending money last few month... I wanted to, but other priorities, been a bad couple of years... but just happened to get my longevity bonus last week, figured I throw it in while I can.

2 kids in college, no more scholarships or aid, is killing me financially.

I just saw the gameplay from e3 for the new medal of honor game. New graphics - whatever - we've seen it a million times. Please lord give us a proper tactical shooter someone.

Come on folks... not liking the timeline were going on... we need more supportters... If you can pay 50 bucks for BF3 premium, and 50 bucks for CoD elite... surely you can pit in to get a TACTICAL shooter for a change.

This. This is SimHQ after all. I remember we used to have a huge SWAT 4 group playing here. We also have a large ArmA 2 fan base. Surely someone those guys are interested in this enough to at least drop $15? You do get the full game at release.

Its going to take more then SimHQ to do this... why haven't sites like tactical gamer, team element or ANY mainstream news sites reported it? Share the info every where, not just here.

I agree. The key here is tapping the battlefield 3 call of duty types. If you can convince even a small proportion of that crew to chip in twenty bucks they would be set.

I've been trying. I'd suggest making a full article about it on the SimHQ front page. This way we can reference to it when posting it elsewhere... seems like a good idea. Might as well have SimHQ be the first site to make an article on it.

If you know anyone who runs game reviews/whatever on Youtube, Twitter, websites, blogs, I would suggest asking them to write an article or two on the front page to gather some interest.

It's not the game or the idea about the game. Real Tactical Gamers are a dying breed!

Very true. We've had ArmA 1/2 and AA3 released since 2005/6 (SWAT 4, RO1). AA3 was and is very buggy. Which leaves us with only one series in the past 7 or so years for our realistic and tactical shooter needs.

Well Doug got it on the front page for us... seriously... I will be PISSED if Ground Branch falls flat... all these other stupid games can collect a half of a mil in days, and we can't... the tactical community/gamers will piss me off if we fail here.

Is there anything we can do?...

At least there are certainly lessons to be learned from the past how to run groups to motivate Real Tactical Gamers and discourage passing through immature players.

This is also as community members part of our responsabilities to help forward the ones that do well and ignore the ones that horse around to create a stronger, reliable group of players thus a stronger community as a whole.

We need to pave the way as leading examples to influence the willing.

Only when the community will be strong, united and able, will we have money pouring for the games we want because some people will recognise us an opportunity to make money.

Because, if today you want to make money what type of game represent a good return on investment?...

Or, all the Real young Tactical Gamers opted for signing up with the USMC!

Keep the threads at the top of their respective forums, though do not spam them. Write well thought out posts with some substance... explain how you are looking forward to this game and why it is different from BF/CoD. If we gather some discussion between a lot of people others will likely read it or become interested. Seeing one or two people go back and fourth and bump the threads makes it look like no one is interested.

Also let your gaming friends know.

You also try contacting bigger game media websites (Total Biscuit's youtube for example).

I'm getting the feeling that some people dropped some dollars on the "Takedown" Kickstarter project and might feel overextended to "double down" (sorry for the gambling reference) on the "Ground Branch" project.

In my opinion, if you’re at all a fan of MilSims, you have no choice but to double down.

hope they get there. i really think they need to reach out to some military websites to try and create a bit of buzz around serving soldiers.

I would also suggest emailing various media websites asking them to do an article.

Google Totalbiscuit, and go to his youtube page, find his email, and send him an email asking him to do a video on the project. He has thousands of subscribers.

Likewise, send some emails to PC Gamer and other game media websites.

Made my contribution just now. I think the idea of kickstarter is great. You get to support the products you want instead of paying serious cash for crap the corporations know will sell to the masses. So far I have helped a good band that I love get a CD out and supported two games with Kickstarter. If we keep this up maybe we can also get the next good tank sim to be what we want!
I made a contribution my wife would kill me over But give what you can, every little bit helps. You can contribute as little as $15 with Kickstarter.

Some more updates. If you pledge $15, you get the game on Steam as well as a Steam-less and DRM-less version.

So if you do not like Steam and only buy entirely DRM free games, Ground Branch is looks good for you. And, if you want to try Steam, you can, as you get both options.

Just thought I'd let everyone know that we are going to include SP/Co-op of Ground Branch FREE to KS backers. Here is the official update:

We have heard the message loud and clear and are happy to announce that we are going to offer ALL of our Kickstarter backers that pledged from the minimum $15 reward up, the Singleplayer/Co-Op portion (with advanced AI) of GROUND BRANCH for FREE. Every copy of the game gets this; So for example, if you get a FIRETEAM EDITION then all 4 copies will be eligible for the additional release.
