I have TIR 5 with Track Clip Pro and this is plugged into a powered USB hub. I have often experienced TrackIR suddenly stops responding in the middle of a flight, and it is very annoying as the only way I know to reset TIR is to turn it off and back on, but when I do that, it does not recognize the sim already in progress.

Anybody got any idea why TIR does this? I know others say there may not be enough USB power but like I said, it's connected to a powered HUB that is plugged into the mains outlet.

Thanks!

Check the USB hub properties and make sure it's not set to go into sleep mode.

I would also avoid using any powered hub for stuff like this anyway and use sockets on the mobo instead even if you get a PCI slot USB card.

How do I check hub properties? All my sim gear is plugged on the powered hub so I doubt it goes to sleep when I'm working my HOTAS/rudders/MFDs during flight as well.

I'll try plugging the TIR to my motherboard and see if that'll solve it.

I would try it directly to your computer. I believe the manual says not to use a hub.

Hi - Ice,
Could it be getting too hot on top of the monitor? The symptoms are right... I got some USB fans - these are the better ones, IMO -

USB Fan @ Amazon

I have a few of these blowing air up from the base of the monitors.
